Good addition to the back room staff, and would expect him to progress to a managers job for someone. Wonder if his TV appearances will curtail now.

No where has Phillips said he is staying other then saying Nigel has offered him a coaching role

He has said nothing about accepting it

I would think this helped him make the decision to retire.

Very unlikely hes going to retire and reject a coaching role.

Phillips is now set to join the coaching staff at the King Power Stadium.

He added: "The manager at Leicester has offered me a position in the coaching staff, with a role with the first team for next season, which I'd like to pursue."

    Give him back....<laugh>

Good luck SKP in what ever you do.
A true Mackem legend and easily the best striker I've had the pleasure to see in the Red and White.

Excellent, I think signing Phillips as a striker coach could be an even better decision than signing him as a player in the first place! It's almost a shame he couldn't generate any controversy- that seems to get you picked more in the England side! Probably the best English goalscorer of my generation (too young for Shearer) and it's a shame we couldn't have him for longer at our club.

Hold on...we'll have him as our No2 striker...

if he's over 30 and can only do 5-10 games a season then we'll give you 97Mill for him and pay him 100k / week

    thanks <ok>

A great pro and highly respected by opposition fans though the years.
His goals broke my heart more than once.
Hope he has success in whatever he does next.

    <laugh>...sadly very true..

I said on your board at the time that it was a very astute & shrewd signing. Worked well for you. a seriously under rated player who's made a living out of getting teams up.
Great Pro and deserves his rewards...(and his zimmer frame ) <ok>
