AFC Wimbledon have been deducted three points for fielding Jake Nicholson, who was an ineligible player, against Cheltenham. Is that the only points deduction a team has had this season?
I would say "Hyde FC, Hearts of Midlothian and Bradford Bulls" but I guess you mean english football league teams.
It makes you wonder why the FA don't seem to have any logic or consistency in the punishments they dish out.
That wasn't the point, both Sun'land and AFC Wimbledon both played ineligible players, Sun'land got fined and no points deducted, why?
Because the FA consider it a bigger offence to field an ineligible player in a league game, than they do a cup one.
But they played 4 games in EPL with an ineligible player. Quote By that time the South Korean had played in four Premier League games - against Fulham, Southampton and Crystal Palace in August, and Manchester United in October - and in the second round of the Capital One Cup against MK Dons.
Fair enough, I thought it was just the MK Dons game. In that case, I assume they considered it a lesser offence as he was actually a Sunderland player and it was simply a paperwork issue that was the problem, there shouldn't really have been an issue at all.
Doesn't appear to be under the FA's jurisdiction in these cases. It was the football league that dished out Wimbledon's points deduction. The Premier League decided to only fine Sunderland.
Lawyers could well be on alert just in case. Sunderland should have lost at least one poiint they gained imo. FA double standards yet again.
