Summer 2014 Transfer rumour thread - Part II

Harry Maguire made the DIv 1 team of the season. Just thought I'd throw that one in.

 

Do we know anything to contradict the verdict? If not I don't see what bearing his having been accused of something which, according to a fair trial, he didn't do would have on anyone's ability to feel pride in the player.

Being falsely accused of a disgusting crime like that must be absolutely horrendous, and if we don't have any information to contradict the court verdict, I think its harsh in the extreme to take "no smoke without fire" outlook. If the lads innocent then he shouldn't have to carry it round with him.

I should point out I know nothing about the details of the trial, I'm just saying, in the absence of any other information we should put some faith in the justice system.

PFA League One Team of the Year: 2012, 2013, 2014. Someone has to take a punt on him soon surely?

 

I don't think anyone's commenting on his guilt or otherwise, but getting himself into that situation at all, whatever the outcome, doesn't reflect well on his character.

He's not going to have any trouble finding a club to employ him, so it's not something he's going to suffer from, I would just rather it isn't us.

 

Well, I can tell you from personal experience that not everyone who gets into a situation of that nature does it of their own volition. I have worked with people who have made perfectly innocent actions with good intentions and ended up suffering hugely because of it. He'll work again for sure and probably be just fine, many people go through similar and struggle immensely.

Anyway, this is a little off topic and steering into some unnecessarily controversial ground.

Personally I'd rather we didn't sign him because I think we can do better!

Rarely post on this site or make up rumours, but found out today Adam Lallana is 99% off in the summer with a deal pretty much in place.

Source - A relative who works with a relative of Adams. He couldn't give any more details than its pretty much a done deal. Also hinted to it being a London club rather than someone in the North West.

 

Rakitic looks a great player, and was surprised that he was dropped for Sevilla's game vs Bilbao last night.

As for Lallana, I've heard a rumour that he's pissed off with being the subject of rumours.

 

My friend is the brother of a guy who works for Adam's wife's mum's second husband's daughter. He says Lallana may go, or he may not.

 

I'll see your "relative who works with a relative" and raise you an Executive Director of Southampton Football Club, who said that any rumours of deals being "pretty much done" rumours were well wide of the mark, not 3 days ago...
