Well it's taken 3 losses straight for us to be in the zone (assuming there is a winner of Cardiff/Sunderland) so yes, I do believe that.
erm, 3 games ago, we were in the zone - 5 points ahead of Fulham, and then lost to them to drop us even further in the mire. This is where the club lost it's chance to stay up (imo), but there is no point in trying to convince anyone that one manager would have got a result, but not another - the damage had already been done in the previous 32 games. I can only start to believe that you think a 5 point cushion, with 6 games to go, is comfortable, with the top 4 to play. We all had a rough idea that April and May were going to be a nightmare, and perhaps you were just counting games, and not taking in to account who we were scheduled to play.
Why are you beating yourselves up over a purely hypothetical question? FFS show some loyalty and move on! What's the point of constantly going over the ifs and what ifs!
Lol! Completely deluded. What will relegate us was the home games against Fulham, Villa, Cardiff and West Brom where we should have been targeting a good return of points, we got 1 and handed our direct rivals priceless points. These matches at the end of the season were never going to decide our fate , it was well documented that we needed to be safe before we played them. The biggest failure this season was the boards failure to act before Xmas and get a proper manager in with time.
Actually, very little of it is true, most of it is opinion. Should we have won those four games? Yes we should but in half of those cases we were the dominant side and didn't win because of our opponent's goalkeeper playing a blinder. The other two we played poorly but so did our opponents so we deserved a draw in all probability. No team wins 100% of their homes game - for instance Chelsea lost to Sunderland which nobody would have expected - and should you take a rational look you should see that our record at home (and indeed our performances) were usually very solid under Hughton. In 2014 we conceded just two goals at home under Hughton - Adams has managed more than that in one game, yes against Liverpool, but Hughton had games against Spurs and Man City. This is the problem IMO. Under Hughton, West Brom the exception our performances were good at home and we usually gave these big clubs a good game. Since Adams has taken charge we now seem to be hurtling towards the relegation zone whilst I am absolutely confident Hughton would have kept us up.
We didn't need to win them all. Beating Fulham at home would have given a 6 point swing leaving us now on 35 and them on 28. A victory over a direct rival is worth far more than a victory against a spurs. That is not opinion it is fact, if you can take points off the teams around you then you won't go down.
We are in the bottom 3 as it stands -and once again we are, with Cardiff looking terrible at the back. Looks like Sunderland may escape.
You know what, I'm looking forward to Championship football next season. I'm sick of nearly every match getting spanked. Not saying we'll storm it as I don't think we will but it's gotta be more entertainment than this season for sure.
They are playing with passion and pride, not wanting to go down. Our lot have given up the ghost IMO.
I didn't agree with getting rid of him when we did and putting Adams in, but that comment is pure stupidity, it is just impossible to say such things without putting it down to blind faith. There was evidence to say there was a chance to stay up, or that we'd be better off keeping him than an inexperienced Adams but to maintain "absolute confidence" in survival just doesn't wash.
