Andy said he thought of piling forward for a winner but decided to settle for the draw. If we had won then three points next Saturday could have put us in with a chance of 8th. Even so, if Oxford and Bury only draw thei away games we could finish 9th. What odds would you have got on that a month ago?

Said to my son at the beginning of the season that I thought we'd finish between 7th and 10th, although possibly in the play offs. He didn't agree.

Got down to 18th and on reflection........ yep, still thought we could end up between 7th and 10th. He definitely didn't agree.

Got down to 22nd, feeling pretty nervous, but still thought we would stay up (fingers crossed).

Win at home next week and my initial prediction holds fast - which makes me right and him wrong <ok>

    This thread is hilarious.
Straight back to negative mode all round until the 4th went in.

We sat in a car for 9 hours yesterday and it was horrific. The team coach was even worse with the squad taking around 11 hours to get there.
Can hardly blame them for being slow out of the blocks.
Add to that the fact bury have not lost at home since November last year and it was always going to be a tough game.
No individual had a bad game we just looked a yard off of the pace,
Second half we played some lovely football and created 4 scrappy goals.

Great atmosphere, the home mob in the corner are pretty good for banter as well. Shame the rest of the ground don't join in because its a cracking little venue. Proper football ground with plenty of character.

    Hollands was exceptional again today.
Was quite sceptical when we signed him but he's been a consistent performer so far and would be a great asset to the club.

Only person I would pick out as looking a bit exposed was Webster at right back. He was beaten pretty much every time someone took him on.

Ant - if only you had posted something like this on here before kick-off, you could have saved us poor 'armchair supporters' a lot of angst and frustration, wondering why our match winning team were performing so poorly in the first half !! <cheers>

We may not be able to get to all the games, especially the away games............. but that doesn't mean that we can't go through the whole gamut of emotions.

I find following Pompey games are so up-and-down/back-to-front that it's like having a cardio-vascular workout.
