2 nights Travelodge Heston £58 , very easy to get to if your driving. 2 miles walk to Hounslow west tube station, picadilly line straight to central London, Happy days
The very same. I booked it on Wednesday night after I'd got my tickets. I just thought it offered the best options for what we wanted and we'll probably only be spending a few hours in the room, so I'm not too concerned about it only being a Travelodge. Park Royal tube station is on the Piccadilly line, so straight into Covent Garden if we fancy it afterwards!
Staying at Travelodge Fulham. Early afternoon arrival at Wembley... did Crystal Club last time so maybe trying The Torch this time. After the game it will be Covent Garden for us.
When I lived in Hull and visited London I didn't like it very much, but when you live there and know where to go it's a totally different experience.
It's too busy for me. I couldn't cope with it every day. I swear every other street corner had someone off Britain's Got Talent on it. Crowds of people watching **** getting in my way! Everyone seems to walk slowly. It just pissed me off. Maybe I went on a bad day.
Totally agree, when you know all the 'secret' places and how to go about things it is a lot better. The last thing to do is just go where all the other tourists go because it is rammed with people and usually a total rip off too. We are back in Hull now but visit London several times a year to see our 'lads' and we love it, i could live down there again if i could afford it.
There's nothing in Park Royal going out wise, it's an industrial estate, I work there. It'll take 30-40 mins to walk to the stadium. I live in high Wycombe it's cheap for hotels/parking, a fair few pubs/restaurants and the train takes 19 mins and costs £13 return. You could also stay in Gerrards Cross or Beaconsfield too, cockfosters is also easy to get in from, not sure what there is to do there though
Park Royal is basically an industrial estate, though if you want a decent Italian, the food at the Belvedere(Hanger Lane) is excellent. And you can always go shopping for an Aston Martin.
I'm doing the National Holidays thing again which was good last time, but because we're staying the night after the game this time I reckon we'll get taken back to the hotel straight after the game, which would be a bit ****.
I did national for the semi. Our driver was a prick. driving this time so we can decide when we set off and how warm we want to be.
Haven't got a ticket yet (Omega Man is giving me an outside chance ) but booked into the Union Jack (Forces) Club in Waterloo £60 for Saturday night. A few rooms left if you are eligible - bloody good bar and sensible prices. Edit: Binned the wife for the trip, too much hassle, so just need one ticket if any ideas out there.
Stopping in St Albans, parking up for free at the hotel then a five minute walk to the train station. £8 return into London. Last train back to St Albans is midnight so plenty of time to celebrate in central London after the game. Plenty of decent hotels, although ours is fully booked and the town centre is lovely with some nice boozers.
****ing hell Park Royal Travelodge. I hated the place. Noise from the road, dirty, not a safe place to walk around, the car park was dark and all night long there was people slamming doors. It was without doubt the worse hotel that I have had the misfortune of staying in. The Brent Cross one was not as bad, but it was full of contractors and the biggest issue was the location, again not a good place to walk around.
It's safe to walk around, the only real crime that happens in Park Royal is people breaking into cars, especially on Wembley match days, it's me! lol But yes, noisy and dirty with all the cars, best be in town or out a few miles with a decent route in.
I stayed in the city for the semi, was decent but it closes down for the weekend so it's weird, gonna do Hilton at luton for the final to match with my flights
