CL over the league any day from our current position, play the kids with a sprinkling of banned players and not so fit. If they fine us who cares!
Only if you have equal chance. We are 3rd favourites for the league and baring a mini miracle we aren't going to win it. We have a 50/50 or better chance of making the C.L final so that must be prioritised.
I don't think there was much doubt we'd do that. It won't exactly be a bunch of novices either. Lamps,Mikel,Matic,Salah,Ba,Oscar,Cole could all feature so only 3 outfield spots likely van Ginkel,Kalas and Christensen.
Couldn't be worse than the teams who played Villa, West Ham, Sunderland etc. Jose should have played fringe players more in the FA and the other dopey Cup that changes its name every year.
Agreed esp the Pepsi-doc martens-alfs cafe cup....can't understand why we haven't used that competition to blood the youngsters; to think the last one to come through the ranks was John Terry.
He'll be playing a week-end team not a weakened team. Atletico play Sunday too- even if he plays his favourite XI- it's same scenario that Madrid have. No worse off. Mind games.
I probably would too! It would be good for English football and you're not Man United. My pro-Englishness would trump my anti-Joseness. / never had a problem with Chelsea... just Mourinho.
Can understand this, especially this season. Jose was quite funny 1st time round, now he seems too agro for anyones good, and the humour is missing. Pity ,but it looks as if tension and expectation is taking its toll. Wish he could chill out , he has nothing to prove to anyone and much to gain by restoring the humour of old. Wind ups are fine by me, but he is overstepping now and then, even though his "on the field" FA charge and comments about the refs are spot on. Been a tough year for him I think, so cut him some slack.
Now matter how good you are [and not just talking football] it's always hard to go back- for anyone- in any position. For everything in life- 2nd time around after moving on, is always more difficult.
It doesn't help though when you get tits like the reporter at todays press conference who kept going on about how Atletico were playing Sunday and would be putting out a strong team. The reporter kept on as to why they were doing that and not complaining that the game wasn't moved. Jose said he should know why the game wasn't moved but the reporter wouldn't let it go. In the end Jose had to explain that Atletico were playing Valencia who played last night so couldn't move the game because of that. Reporter looked a right tit and Jose made him know it. I'm sure that reporter won't be printing anything positive even though he was the idiot who was wrong.
If we believe all this nonsense that Jose keeps chatting I guess you'll play this 'weakened' team? #cash please log in to view this image
Why does the cost of a player determine how good he is? Torres cost £50m yet I think he's one of the worst in the league. Whoever you extracted that pic from cannot spell and does not even know that will be the line up.
Apart from Kalas, who in that team isn't an international? edit: Oh, Kalas is an international too...
Of Australia, Senegal, Nigeria, Egypt, Cech Republic. ****ing brilliant that Mourinho also hasn't picked the line up yet. Lampard, Matic, Cahill, Schurrle, Ivanovic and arguably Cole are first team players.
I still think Mourinho had nothing to gain by saying he would field a weak team- unless he wasn't going to field a weak team. He may rest a few players- but I can't see Mourinho giving up on the title that easily- or even throwing the title to the team he likes least in the league. He only said he'd field a weak team to try to make Rodgers waste prep time- preparing for your lesser players. I doubt Rodgers or anyone at Liverpool really believe he is going to field anything but a strong XI.
So? £125m worth of international footballers. If you can't work with that you need ****ing sacking, or at least whoever hired them does. Oh wait, Jose signed 5 of them himself... Imagine how Atletico feel that they are still in a title race.
