As long as we win our last game of the season I don't mind.

One thing to add as well. Last year we finished 16th, looked like dogsh1t at the end of the season and barely escaped relegation. The Summer solution? Push out Llambias and hire Kinnear.

Nice one, Ash. All I'm suggesting is that whilst we'd all love change, 'tis probably better not to expect it. In all honesty, it's probably better to just give up.

Rags are floating the names of Bruce and Moyes around this morning, if we're serious about a manager of this nature we need a specific type of player... one I wouldn't intentionally set out to watch.

Maybe they aren't the best choices but I'd be happy with anybody to be able to see the back of Pards.

People moan about Moyes/Bruce - can you imagine a Newcastle team giving up in February under either, regardless of style of football??

I wondered about Bruce. He's probably cast some glances at Old Trafford now and realised he's not quite at a club that will allow him to step up. I reckon he'd be a really good appointment for the club. He's never far away from pledging allegiance to the black & white and his teams play pretty well. He's a motivator, has done it as a player and would do the best he could as both his birthright and also to tempt the bright lights of Manchester Reds.

Fck it - he's at the top of my wanted list now.

A Corbridge lad, he'd just be a hop skip and a jump away from his roots.

Not sure about Bruce myself. Done a fine job at Hull but when at Sunderland it was as if he'd developed a kind a hatred towards us due to the old "Cheer up Stevie Bruce" song.

I'd give him my backing if he arrived, just wouldn't be top of my list.

Have to say though, all this talk of a new manager when Pardew is still here is very premature.

Bit of a left field suggestion but would anyone take Gary Neville as manager?

Not one of the most popular people in this neck of the woods.

That would be a no from me.

Wow. That would tick a lot of Mike's boxes - inexperienced, will bend over because of the size of the job, cheap, out of work, Londoner, utterly unexpected, will have zero fan backing from day one. Stick a monkey on it.

The thing is I do like Chris Powell but Christ I wouldn't want him here. I think he would come in with the best intentions but end up failing miserably.

Tactical wise Gary Neville is very sound and if he was coming in as a coach I'd be more than happy. As a manager though, it would be nice to know what you're getting in terms of style. I like the cherry picking of talent lower down the leagues personally. I believe in managers cutting their teeth, all the desirable current ones have come through that kind of system. Rodgers, Martinez all did the time. Even older guys like Mourinho or Pelligrini went and learnt their trade. Guardiola went and cut his teeth with the B team at Barca.

I just think it gives them a chance to get a clear plan of action together. Its then about selecting the one who meets your vision as an owner. Ambitious clubs will largely base that on philosophy and clear signs of talent. They'll try to catch them early. Clubs like ours will base it on who is the cheapest, which usually means damaged goods, hoping they have something to prove.
