Barcelona are allowed to sign players this summer after their transfer ban was lifted.

    Source? Twitter or newspapers? Details?

FYI: Only lifted until a final decision has been made.

It is being delayed so it can go to appeal. This is a smart tactic from Barca, as it means they can plan for the likely ban they're going to get by buying all the players they need in this window. The problem there going to have, is clubs will realise this, and put the price up on any player they're after.

Having Pinto in goal for the whole of next season would have been a complete nightmare for Barca, so this gives them the chance to buy a top class keeper. They also need a couple of quality centre halfs, and a new right back:biggrin:

Kind of defeats the object, doesn't it?

"Barca, you're going to have a 12 month transfer ban after this window, please buy all your players now". I get your point that prices will be increased, but it's clearly a cop-out by FIFA and won't have nearly the effect it should have done.

Isn't the ban on youth player signings only?

No it will be a ban on all signings. They got the ban though because they kept poaching youth players from other clubs

We're being linked with Cesc Fabregas again, and Barca are apparently willing to sell, where as they weren't last summer. So maybe the ban being lifted for a short period could be a good thing for us, as they wouldn't have been happy to sell anyone without being able to buy a replacement
