So Moyes really already knew his goose was cooked when it became mathematically impossible to get CL football? So he knew he was a goner at the final whistle at Everton
Read somewhere that he was offended by the chosen one banner, he felt he'd earned the right to manage Utd on merit, that's one arrogant self assessment from the ginger twat. Being friends with Fergie meant he leapfrogged better suited more successful managers, cheers Fergie.
That was (should have been) his top priority. Getting that damn CL place. The GGs had nothing to lose and everything to lose by sacking him NOW rather than wait until the end of the season. he may had the backing of the board and the fans but if he had senior players against him then he was never going to win. It was better to end his agony now rather than to prolong it.
?? Yet he thanked the United fans who were the only ones who supported him, through a very awful time.
They supported the team. barely anyone supported him since the turn of the year. His name was not sang in the ground like it was in the first few months and he was at best given polite rounds of applause. yes the plane was booed but not in defence of Moyes. You would have to be bonkers to think it was.
UIR, the fans didn't call for his head either. Only a minority (of which you are part ) did. All I am saying is that the fans whilst he was manager did not boo him or make life difficult for him. In the end his position was untenable and had to go. The fans were deeply unhappy but refused to call for his head.
The vast majority wanted him out. Just because they were not vocal in it doesnt mean they didnt want him out. After the Everton games United fans walked from the ground shouting for him to be sacked. Not for the first time either.
Moyes claimed that last year's league title was a poor championship and that the club needed about six world class players so if that was the case i can totally understand why the players lost respect for him and stopped playing for him because Ferguson was never publicly critical about his players and the players were always ready to go to war for him, hence why he had the respect of his players during the duration of his 26+ years at the club
Currently working with a manc, whose son ( a promising footballer himself) is good mates with a couple of United lads including Wellbeck. Wellbeck texted him last night and said that Moyes got the Man Utd squad together yesterday morning (10.00am) and told them he was going. Apparently Fellani cried! He the went on to say that Giggs took training and it was brilliant, just like the old days!
evryone knows your sack of ****e ex manager is gonna end up at our place...that's bad enough without dumping Matts on us too
