I'm not too fussed if Krul went to be honest as long as we got a good price for him.

    http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/fo...ul-considering-summer-exit-from-St-James-Park

Alan Pardew has a fight on his hands to hang on to him this summer with Tottenham interested along with Italian giants AC Milan and Juventus.

However, the Dutch international believes his own career is now at a crossroads and is giving serious thought to severing his links with Newcastle, who he joined as a teenager in 2005.

Krul was left devastated when coach Louis Van Gaal left him out of a recent Holland squad and there are now huge question marks over whether he'll be heading to the World Cup this summer.

He is also missing European football and believes he may need a bigger stage to further his international ambitions.

A source close to the keeper said: "Tim enjoys playing for Newcastle but at the same time, he wants to win trophies and play at the highest level.

"He has some important decisions to make about his future and knows if he did leave, there would be no shortage of clubs wanting to sign him."

Krul, who has played more than 100 games for the Toon, is aware that Milan, now coached by fellow Dutchman Clarence Seedorf, have been watching him along with their big rivals Juventus.

“He has some important decisions to make about his future and knows if he did leave, there would be no shortage of clubs wanting to sign him”

There has even been talk in Spain of Barcelona, who face losing both Victor Valdes and Jose Pinto at the end of the season, coming in for him if FIFA lift their transfer embargo.

Tottenham have also been keeping tabs on him and would make a move if they lose Hugo Lloris to big-spending Paris St-Germain this summer.

Krul still has two years left on his contract but would command a fee in the region of £10m, which could tempt Newcastle to cash in.

Though he has been the club's undisputed No.1 for the past three years, Pardew admitted recently that his understudy Rob Elliot is ready for regular first team football.

    http://news.ladbrokes.com/en-gb/foo...tle-bring-england-goalkeeper-cold_194490.html

Newcastle United look set to begin their search for a new goalkeeper early with former Toon academy graduate and Celtic star Fraser Forster topping the list of candidates.

The move comes amid reports that current number one Tim Krul is set to depart the club come the end of the season, with Barcelona believed to be weighing up a bid for the Dutch international who is highly rated across the continent.

And while that move may hinge on whether the current transfer ban imposed on the Catalan club remains in place, it is widely thought that, regardless of whether a Nou Camp move comes to fruition, the stopper will seek to leave St James’ Park come the end of the season.

This transfer could prompt Newcastle United to bid for former player Fraser Forster, who left the Tyneside club for Celtic on a permanent deal back in June 2012.

And the former Wallsend Boys Club member has impressed for the Bhoys ever since, setting a new club-record of 11 league clean sheets in a row back in February as well as setting a new Scottish League record of 1,256 minutes without conceding a goal.

Despite taking on a starring role for the Hoops though, the 26-year-old has found his opportunities for the England team somewhat limited, with the keeper playing second-fiddle to Joe Hart despite the Manchester City man enduring some poor form in the Premier League this term.

Many have suggested that Roy Hodgson’s continued preference for Hart may be, in some part at least, down to the fact that he plies his trade in the Premier League rather than the less competitive Scottish top flight, where Celtic hold a 25-point lead at the top of the table.

This has prompted many to suggest Forster will seek a move down south come the conclusion of the current campaign and with a potential vacancy for a starting keeper in the offing at former club Newcastle it could prove a match made in heaven.

Celtic paid £2m for the keeper two years ago and could push for at least three times that fee, but with Newcastle boasting plenty of money in the transfer coffers and likely to have additional funds from the sale of Krul, negotiations could prove relatively straightforward.

There has been lots of speculation about Krul over the last 18 months or more, so I'm paying too much attention to this. Not to say Mike won't cash in, as I'm sure he will - and 2 years on a contract is often the optimum time as within 1 year the price can be deflated.

Mind you, this line is more concerning - "Though he has been the club's undisputed No.1 for the past three years, Pardew admitted recently that his understudy Rob Elliot is ready for regular first team football."

Another player that has gone stale for me.

Injuries haven't helped but if we could sell for around 10m and replace him with Forster for 5m-7m I'd be more than happy.

I've always liked Forster and would honestly take him over Krul.
    He has developed massively recently.

I'll say it, I think Krul is overrated at present. He is young in keeping terms. If I was him I'd get out now and go to a club who will improve him. He has gone stale and I'm not convinced with Woodman's coaching. Losing Harper left a void of competition but his kicking is still shocking, he still goes long way too much (Colo regularly bollocks him for this), and he has lost that consistency he had. He can still be top class but he needs to go to a club who will nurture his raw skills. If you got 10m it would be great money for a lad of his current ability. I'd rather we retained him, got competition, and actually a goalkeeping coach who developed him but I see this as unlikely.

Oh god - Elliott as a regular first team starter.

As long as we get a replacement for Krul to keep that useless prick out of the team....

Forster plays in a pub league in Scotland. That is reason enough not to want him here.

If Krul leaves and Elliot gets a nudge up and is our number 1 we are ****ed - simple as that.

Forster has played well against some teams a bit above the pub category - - Barcelona springs to mind. You can't blame him for the quality of the opposition he meets on a day to day basis.

I'd be happy with any deal that worked out as [Forster + £5m] in exchange for Krul.

There is no doubt that Krul has the ability to become a truly great goalkeeper, he has shown that ability many times and won the away game vs Spurs single-handed for us.

Thing is, we all need to get used to the fact that we will no longer see players (of genuine quality) staying long-term at Newcastle United. Tim has learnt his trade here and will no doubt go to a top club to further his career.

Newcastle United are simply a stepping stone (albeit a rather sizable one) for players to move on and achieve things in the game. Yohan Cabaye being the best recent example.

The long-term presence of Mike Ashley is damaging every aspect of Newcastle United's footballing integrity and I can only wish Tim Krul the very best of luck in his search for footballing ambition <ok>

    Good shout Joker.
I'll thank Kul for all of his efforts as he seems to have a bit of a bond with us... something which can't be said of all players.

    Krul>Alnwick>Woodman>Elliot.

Problem is Elliot is a Pardite. We all know that P45dew picks favourites ahead of talent, and all that's needed to keep you in the team is good words. Not talent, not performance, not form, but press releases. Elliot is a reliable soundboard for Parps' "ability", so he may well be number 1 next season.

    This is what will happen
Krul goes fairly cheaply like cayabe
Elliot becomes first choice (fat useless prick that he is ) and we buy some 15yr old french keeper who is going to be the next big thing, three years later the next big thing fails to meet the grade and goes back to the 3rd tier of french football.
    Sounds familiar anybody ?

Pardew wouldn't want Elliot as his keeper. I'm sure Pardew would like better competition for Krul. It not his choice though is it. He is only allowed quality in his first eleven. He isn't going to go blowing his budget on a back up keeper. If Pardew does stay, Krul leaves and Elliott becomes No.1, it will be because Ashley wants it, not Pardew.

Pardew is always going to back the players in the squad publically. We are so thin, he needs them all, regardless how ****.
