I like emms the first time he was with us especially the goal he scored against cardiff and i am impressed by his attitude this season and i would like us to make him a player we can build a team around next season. Im sure monk can see he has a good amount of skill up front that we can work off and use in the right way and we can score a lot and make a lot of goals next season.. He is something that we can rely on when bony is rested or injured. emms is a player that fits our type of football..
I have been thinking the very same thing Dai, Emnes could well get back to his best under us!................ Has Michu handed in transfer request?
I do like Emnes and have no problem with signing him. One of the rarities that I will agree with Dai on, not build a team around, but I do think he offers us something different.
If we end up in the Championship and the likes of Bony, Michu, Deguzman, Hernandes, Dyer and Routledge then we may have no other choice than to build a team around him. Right now though at this level as a bench player great but anymore than that nope,
Yea I agree with you fellas. Something worth mentioning...Pretty much most of us said after Tiendalis first spell with us that we should sign him, he looks decent...Then we did, and then we realised he is gash. Same with Daryl Duffy
I listened to most make fun of the Emnes deal and joined in, but after watching him playing a part in a few games I believe me and others overeacted to the deal . Sound substitute up front imo
I rate emms as he is the type of player that can push bony on for us, He is a player that can either work with bony or take his place in times of injury or rest period, He has a tremendous amount of speed and energy and he is strong and if we can work on his strengths pre season then he could become a fans favorite next season. We cant just pin all our hopes on bony next season as jenkins is never going to splash out another £12 million for a player for a few seasons yet and Emms has the quality in him to get better for us in the system we play. We need a good strike force for next season as there will be a few players imo coming to the end of their fitness level for premiership standard, I want to see what Donnelly has to offer next season because if he is not going to be part of the team then i think we should let him go, We should have a nice few million to spend but jinx will not allow it to be spent on one player and will want at least 4 or 5 players out of the budget he gives monk or a director of football if we go down that route.
Are you sure you're not confusing Emnes with Routledge? Emnes will be nothing more that a bit-part player for us. Although that penalty he got has saved our arses.
I can see more in emms than you from what i can see, He has the potential to be a great player for us from the little i have seen him play so far. I think he is worth investing in. but that's my own opinion.
Emnes is a tidy player and would be happy to have him here. I was staggered watching Lita come on and/or be on the bench when we had Emnes available. But, If we sign him I see him as no more than a bit part player and the cover for our main striker. Saying that would keep him at the club.
I like Emnes. I still smile when I think about the winning goal he scored at Legoland. Of such stuff are legends made. However, that was in the past, and the question is,does he bring anything worthwhile to the Club/team now? I think he does, and I agree with Dai. He's currently on loan, would love a permanent move here, and he seems to be part of the furniture. I can't think of any reason not to sign him permanently,on say,an initial two year deal.
Emnes would be a handy back up for Bony as Dai and a few have said. Building a team around him - no. don't even know who is club is and how much would he cost? not too much if he was loaned to us.
Emnes has been a better bit part player than Shekter, Vasquez and Lita so yes to having him in the squad. Building a team around him? Bony, Michu, Routs and Shelvey come higher up that particular list for me. Keep him as back up yes. He has a good attitude and makes himself a nuisance when called upon.
Agreed. He's a good 'other' option when we need to change things up. He's certainly had more of an impact than N'gog Which reminds me of a tweet from a Bolton fan when we he left: 'Thanks N'Gog for all the memories. I'll never forget the time you almost hit the post against Yeovil'
Think most here are singing from the same hymnsheet. Emnes has been a tidy player for us and is streets ahead of Vasquez and Lita combined. Always full of energy and loves to run at defenders and that can be very useful late in the game as Saturday showed. But why didn't 'Boro fancy him at all? Makes you wonder. But someone said about building a team around him and like most other posters I don't see that at all, not even in the Championship.
