Manchester United,Mourinho's boys are blunted...and Arsenal.

United in turmoil? Cech and Terry out and minds on the Champions League? Arsenal safely fourth and a Wembley appearance the following weekend. It's possible. Not probable, but possible.50/50 chance of reaching 35 points.

Obviously it is not over until it is over but it does feel CT that we are grasping at straws here. In all lightly hood we will not gain another point in our last 3 games as we do not have the players to beat those teams and will be very possibly in the bottom 3 come Saturday. We do not have the luck of say Sunderland at Chelsea last week. I suppose miracles do happen but not convinced we will be in this league next season. We have simply not done enough I'm afraid. Heart hopes I am wrong but head says no.

Obviously if we do by some amazing feat, stay up I will be chuffed, but cannot see it happening.

Realistically we need Cardiff, Sunderland and fulham to either draw or lose their remaining games and we scrap a couple of points. This assumes we don't win another game
    That's glass emptyl but likely

C'mon people this is a reasons to be cheerful thread!

We scored two goals against the probable champions last week, surely that is the flood gates open, 3-0 win at old trafford will do us nicely!

    Bah!

That doesn't sound particulaly cheerful Fenland!

I would prefer "After a rapid and clinical start by Liverpool, our manager and players through nouse, tenacity, spirit and skill roared back in to the game."

And yes the formation/set up may not of been quite right at the start, But by golly gosh, it got better!

    Bah!

I think we could have nicked a point if not for the Johnson error, who would you start against Man U?

Liverpool put 4 past arsenal in the opening 20 so 2 in 10 is fair enough. After about 20 minutes I'd say things evened out and we were definitely the better team second half.

You could easily apply the logic that most of the Utd players that failed Moyes so miserably will now be looking to impress the new incumbant whoever he may be! The Giggs factor will also lift morale so I dont think you can expect an easy ride! <ok>

Oh but just to cheer you up your beloved neighbours South of the border still have a chance of reaching the playoffs!

I'm not sure I'd change it too much. I'd start as we did the second half, formation and personnel. This utd side is a long way from that of Liverpool (although they are at home under a new boss). I want Redmond and his pace in there somewhere at least to keep their backline honest. I know allot of folks would swap out Johnson for Tettey, but I'd keep him in, I think he offers a little more fire and right now we need that.

    Bah!

Cheerfully though it is a slim one that you shall doubtless bottle and even then, can there be any worse team at getting through the playoffs?

    Bah!

I think Brighton will snatch the final spot off Reading. Derby will probably go up , think they deserve it overall.

Hopefully QPR's failure will send them into more of a downward spiral. Can't stand the club.

Yes, the final play off place is going to be interesting, as there are some key games to be played on the last day of the Championship season!!!!

The only thing with QPR is that if they don't get promoted, they are virtually guaranteed to spend heavily in the summer and I would be very surprised if they aren't at least challenging for the title again next year. So as satisfying as it would be if they fail, equally it might make the Championship a fraction easier if they aren't in it.

Aren't they in trouble with the FairPlay rules and potentially gonna suffer a transfer embargo.

Wasn't aware of that Bath, not surprised if so!

Good point Fen, and I suppose the answer might be in the FairPlay question...
