At least his prognosis is that it's a mild stroke , not that it makes it any less serious .Like him or loath him ,he's always enertaining. Get well Leighton http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27119828
He ruffles feathers with his blunt journalism, which would account,I presume, for any loathing he may engender. On the playing front,he was one of the very finest of players to ever represent Swansea City F.C.,and I only have fond memories of him in that capacity. Hope you make a full, speedy recovery,Leighton.
Because he's very much 'local" there are a lot of stories regarding his "attitude" shall we say ,I enjoy listening to him on Rob Phillips phone in on Radio Wales and is as direct in his comments as he was as a player .Great talent as a player without doubt and talks as he sees it now
Was talking to him after Cardiff game and he was very direct even after we had just won. Was quite happy talking about soccer at any time. Hope he has a swift recovery.
I bumped into him coming out of Sainsbury's in Gorseinon a few months or so back. As he walked away,I realised who it was,and I took the opportunity of thanking him for the pleasure he had given me,and others, whilst playing for The Swans' He seemed genuinely surprised that I had recognised him,and taken the trouble to greet him so favourably. He was some player.
