I fall between you and Supers. I think it was a bit naive to play a diamond against Liverpool from the start because of how good Liverpool have started games this season. They scored 2 nice goals, maybe the defence could have been better but the run from Suarez and the ball from Sterling for the second goal were simply sensational having rewatched it on MOTD. It was refreshing though to see us giving some attacking intent from the start. However, Adams definitely changed the formation to a 4-5-1 as Redmond and Snodgrass went out to the wings and Howson pushed up behind Hooper. It made a big difference as we got more control in the midfield (Helped by Liverpool sitting off us) and we weren't getting exposed on the wings. From there on in it was pretty much all Norwich. If Hooper had of scored his chance in the first half then probably would have gotten atleast a point.
Most of the names above are those who I would like/go for; PL: Tuchel, Bielsa, Rosler, Moyes or Clarke Champ: Malky, Howe or Sherwood Or a left field option for either PL or Champ, which would be a huge risk given his time out of the game, Hoddle with NA as assistant. They would certaintly want to play football. Bah!
Fair enough. If we were worried about a manager who would need replacing if we were promoted, someone close to retiring may be convenient, for whom promotion could be their final achievement. I can't quite believe I'm suggesting him, but....Neil Warnock?
i have to say NA's appointment had me seriously worried initially, but after watching the last two games you can see the transformation it has had on the team as a whole, is it the new manager rebound or just the players fighting for survival or could NA actually be a really good team motivator? The next three games will tell us a lot more but i think its very unfair to write him off with a chance at this stage, im sure DM will be considering him. I can see your point either side if we stay up or go down but i dont really see how Malky or Shearwood would be any improvement IMO.
Think it's a bit harsh on Adams he's certainly not the first manager to be outwitted particularly early on by rodgers this season... He saw what he thought he could change, changed it, and we almost got something. Much more adaptable than Hughton ever was. I think if we have the cash then Malky could get us straight back up (He spent a fair bit at cardiff if i remember correctly). IF we stay up, and i cannot see it... Uwe Rosler or Steve Mclaren. Whoever doesn't win the play offs. Both played superb football since they've taken over their clubs, given players more freedom. Can't see Uwe moving from the north west now he's back with his family, but Mclaren looks like he has his mojo back, just look at QPR's results since he left the coaching team, he's obviously a good coach.
Neil Adams set the team up and we were fecking dreadful for most of the first half. With the diamond, just gave them more space, very slow to close them down. Liverpoo thenl sat back and the team played with greater heart because of the context. He is incredibly naïve at this level, doesn't mean he won't become a better manager, but I would be very disappointed if he was given the job.
completely agree longsight. almost seems to me that people are trying to justify his appointment, even though there is little point in doing so as hughton's position was clearly untenable when relieved of his duties and we had no alternative to adams. it might seem harsh especially at this stage and considering our opponents but he reminds me hugely of peter grant. i don't want neil adams anywhere near the managers role come next season or i really will fear the worst
There's more to being a good manager than just motivation, otherwise we may as well pluck a different man out of the snake pit each week. Adams has never had to operate in the transfer market before for starters.
I agree if we stay up names such as De Boer, Tuchel and Bielsa would be fantastic although I doubt we could get them. Similarly Vitor Pereira or Luis Enrique would be good choices and would certainly bring about a different style. Koeman again may be out of range, although Feyenoord do not have very strong finances. I think we should be looking toward a younger manager with fresh ideas who plays more of a high tempo pressing game when out of possession. Most importantly they must have the right personality for the club, but of course none of us can know that as we have never met them. In terms of a manager if we go down, it is a hard balance between someone experienced who may take us up but then no further, or pick a style of play and long term vision for the club and bring someone in to build a team in that manner. It may not get you up at first time of asking but could prove more successful in the long run. I'd opt for the second option. In terms of names Rosler and Howe are decent enough shouts as is Malky all of which would do a decent job in the championship. Bob Bradley I think was linked last time, although I wouldn't be a huge fan of that. RE NA, it is impossible to form a judgement either way based on 2 performances, although I would be reluctant to give him the gig full time. You can't questions his commitment and desire for the club to do well, not sure if that would really be enough. As a big risk option how about Frank Wormuth? Coaches the German U20 side with great success. A highly successful coach, albeit at a lower level but according to friends of mine out there he is very highly though of. Also helps train new coaches, so as a long term option he could help to build the club for the future. Highly unlikely of course, he is probably very happy where he is, but a club like ours should look to the future and try and get ahead of the game.
If we stay up then I would like to see possibly Sammy Hyypia as manager. Overall his record with Bayer Leverkusen was around 50%, I believe. If we were going to say with a British/English manager, then I wouldn't mind seeing Hoddle here.

I don't want to get all 'gravy canaries' on your asses , but I swear I saw someone who looked awfully like Nigel Worthington in Costawhatsit, Dereham earlier today whilst in there with my granddaughter. I checked on the betting and he's actually 12/1 to be our next permanent manager! That could never happen, could it?
