What utter ****e. Nett spend in the premier is probably close to zero. Unlike yours. If we'd spent quarter of a billion on players like you have we'd have an average gate if over 45000. Ticket prices are stupid for away fans travelling that far. You say you sold out 2 times in a few weeks. Yet you all earn massively more than we do up here and the 2 tickets here probably cost as much as our one ticket yesterday. You are completely clueless. You were no bigger in league success terms than a Fulham or other mid table club before Roman took over. And, by the way, we've won the league more times than Chelsea

Sunderlands net-spend from 2008 - 2012 was £57m, the 4th highest in the Premier League. What have you got to show for it?

The first 3 season back in the prem we average 45,000 under Roy Keane pal. I tell you now, the only reason Chelsea sell out up here is because the ticket prices.

Like I said before, give us Chelsea money & we would **** on there support.

Back to the game, Sunderland deserved their win. Ramires and Oscar totally disinterested and saving themselves for Brazil. Mourinho couldn't motivate the team against lesser opposition again and there nobody bar Willian seemed that bothered.

I think we will do well in the cups for the foreseeable future but don't see us winning the league anytime soon with this crop of players. Characters of the Drogba/Ballack/Terry/Lampard/Makalele mould are few and far between nowadays.

Funny cos you averaged 13k-18k in Div 1 and Div 2 in the 80s, 15-20k for six seasons in the 90s, and 27-28k in the 00s.

During the same periods we averaged 21-23k in Div 1 and 2 in the 80s, and 21-27k in the 90s. Your crowds were ****e until you moved grounds and got a new wave of Johnny come latelys

27-28000 in the 00's??? Third best support in the country 99/00 season and 00/01 season. You need to look up your facts before posting rubbish. 2000-2002 we averaged over 46000. Even the season we went down we averaged nearly 40000. That was around the time of your "Johnny come lately" fans

Horrific result which I never would have imagined. We are almost certainly out of the title race now. If Liverpool beat us next week then that is the end for us. A real shame because yesterday has taken out most of the excitement and intensity from the Liverpool game.

Our finishing was once again awful, the goal we conceded was a calamity from our point of view and some players really let us down (Ramires and Oscar to name a couple), but I really thought the game against Aston Villa would have been the worst refereeing performance I would have seen against us all season. It was actually the difference between three points and zero. I know we're out home and it's Sunderland, but they're fighting for survival and have proven to be game raisers so refereeing decisions can obviously have a significant influence on the result. A total of five major decisions went against us. Ramires should also of course have seen red for his disgraceful assault on Larsson (should be a retrospective four match ban for him as he's already been sent off this season), but three of those game changing decisions had occurred before that. Mike Dean, like some refs before him, seemingly set out with the mindset to teach us a lesson that we've already been taught by his predecessors. Yes, we know who's the boss and who has the overall power to decide a result. You're still a crap referee for missing Ramires' attack when it happened right in front of you.

Congratulations to Sunderland for winning the three points, as well as for being the first team to beat us in a domestic home game this season and the first ever to beat Mourinho's Chelsea in a domestic home match and end his fantastic run, but it wasn't deserved one bit. The polar opposite from when you smashed us 3-0 at the Bridge three years ago. of course they will not give a shit and the way in which they won will be forgotten, so at least let me say the truth now and get it off my chest.

Time to focus on the Champions League now. I'll never give up on the league as long as there is a chance, but we've dropped way too many silly points this season to prove that we're worthy champions.

League has gone, Jose knows that. I seriously doubt he will risk anyone for the return clash with AM. I would be really surprised if we didn't see the likes of Cole and van Ginkel playing along with anyone suspended for AM.

Kind of ironic from the guy who claimed Sunderlands net spend in the Prem was close to zero....

Sorry I didn't realise the premier league was invented in 2008!! The 57m was from 2008 to present. Not since the incarnation if the premier league.... So my facts are probably pretty close
