http://news.sky.com/story/1245169/west-ham-striker-dies-at-20-after-cancer-battle Tributes have poured in for West Ham United striker Dylan Tombides, who has died of cancer aged 20. The Australian player, who was diagnosed with testicular cancer three years ago, died on Friday with his family at his bedside. His death will be marked by a minute's applause before West Ham's home match against Crystal Palace this weekend.
Poor lad. Awful news for his family. 20 is no age at all. Also one of the few occasions when I support the minutes applause. He did no end of work to increase awareness, a true hero. RIP.
Awful for his family. I do wish crowds would observe a respectful minute's silence rather than applause, though.
Not many Hammers on this Site but Alf Garnett (Miggins) is always lurking over there http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/258617-RIP-Dylan-Tombides
Very sad news. If your ever a bit stressed with things it's news like this that puts it all into perspective. RIP!
Although I'd never heard of him until now, it would take a hardened soul not to feel touched by such a sad tale of this young man. RIP Dylan.
RIP Dylan, from me also On the minute of applause, after last weekend's singing in the minute of silence, perhaps applause is more appropriate. At leat inappropriate singers will have to work a bit harder
