We're safe. I can't see those below getting many more points between them. Plus, like mentioned, they're playing for final places now, plus Long and Jela were rested at the weekend. It's all good. I fancy a point from Arsenal.
Mathematically, no. Realistically, yes. We'd probably go down 1 time in 10. The bookies have it at more like 1 in 100.
I think we'll beat Villa away. They are there for the taking with nothing to play for and a crowd that will quickly get on their backs.
Maths obviously isn't your strong point if you think at least two of the current bottom three can get to 38-45 points It doesn't matter if Fulham catch us, they have to get at least one point more because of GD, one of the others does too. So, yes, I think we are safe with 36 points (unless our GD takes a big hammering). Three of the current bottom 4 (probably all four of them) will get 36 or less points. I also think we wont lose all five remaining fixtures, even if we are terrible we'll get at least a couple of draws.
i agree with BBC i can't see us getting another point this season, but then again maybe i'm being pessimistic but i really can't see it.... what a **** i am eh we've won the last two games so why the **** can't you see it brady? well i just we always play badly in these sorta games... yeah but a surprise win against villa.. nah just can't see it... hey just cause i think we will lose all the games doesn't mean i won't support the lads hope oxlade chamberlain gets a 3 month injury , who gives a **** about england? as well as podolski, giroud, carzola, ramsey, wilshere..... hope they all get ****ing long injury lay offs on sunday im a **** and proud good job mate on another note when was the last time a scottish **** played for arsenal, the racist bastard
The first game aside v Chelsea, we've consistently managed to keep out points total higher or level with the number of games we've played. I expect we'll keep that trend after 38 games.
You obviously didn't read my previous post saying I think we'll get between 2 and 9 points, hence saying 38-45 should see us safe, even if we do only get the 2 points instead of closer to the 9 I think is achievable. All of the bottom 3 can achieve 42, 41 and 41 points, so yes, mathematically I do believe any of the bottom 3 can reach the 38 points I think is the minimum we'll achieve from our remaining games. Why 'at least two' of the current bottom 3? It only takes for one of those to do better than us for us to potentially end up in the relegation zone.
I think we'll pick up more points this season. Brucie and Davies won't let anyone take their mind off the league. The cup final is still a month away and I can't see anyone getting carried away or distracted by it.
Correction: I meant at least two of the current bottom four - As I mentioned that later. Cardiff and Sunderland can't both reach maximum points as they play each other. The question was are we safe with 36 points, not how many points we might get in total, so please tell us which two of the current bottom four will get to at least 37 points, and how exactly they'll do it
Arsenal have us down as a team of cloggers and time wasters, stemming from our 2-1 win at the Emerites in 2008. I know a lot of their fans reacted well to that defeat but it really shook up Arseface Whinger. by the time we played them in the FA Cup Quarter Final later on that season the nastiness took over. They had massive home advantage and filled the ground on a Thursday night with cheap offers, £10, for their passholders. We were charged full pops. We took the lead, and scored again which was wrongly disallowed for offside. They whinged and moaned throughout the first half and City went in 1-0 up. Arseface then went into the referee's room and moaned even more resulting in Mike Riley giving us nothing at all in the second half. I think he booked six of our players in all. They equalised with a decent goal, fair enough, no complaints there, but won the match in the last ten minutes with a dodgy free kick and the resulting goal scoring header was from an offside position. SKY highlighted this as the end and that our 'second' goal was not offside. Then we had the Febregas spitting incident and the kick off in the players tunnel. They then slagged us off in the media who gobbled it up. Met a couple of their fans during a week-end away in London a few week later, gready big mouthed barstewerds. They were guests of friends of ours from Hull who now live in London. Not a good word for our team/club/city. 'You kicked us off the park......' time and time again. Then they ordered several bottles of wine for themselves, drank it to themselves, and the most expensive dishes on the menu then expected us to split the bill with them. Like mugs we did. One of the big headed c***s then gave a tenner to a street beggar in an attempt to impress us 'impoverished Northerners' I'd bit my lip for too long by now and the night finished early when I told them what I thought of them. So on Sunday I hope we beat them in Hull for the first time in our history. We could really upset them, put the fear of god into them, see a couple limping off the pitch at the end, and show them that they are nothing special, just another football team like us and one we are more then capable of beating. UTT!
Yeah - I loved it when one of our cloggers clogged it into the top corner from 40 yards out. Also, I could be wrong, but I think the personnel in our team may just have changed very slightly since that day, too. Their opinion of City based on that day is about as relevant as us looking at the 1971 double team of Rice, McLintock, Graham, George et al.
No, not yet because we have no idea what the other teams will do. Yet I can't see us losing all 5 remaining games. Have we lost 5 on the trot all season ?
stay in the league and not embarrass ourselves in the final Have you been this pessimistic all season ? If you expect us to lose all 5 games then why ? Is it because we are in the final ?
I was guilty of that the other week and it slipped through my fingers.. bloody 5-aside goalkeeping eh..
I think confidence is running high in the team now and Brucie will not let them relax. Who would have thought we'd have scored 5 without Long and Jelavic. With such team spirit I can't see us losing all our remaining games. Hoping for at least a point against Arsenal.
aye aye.. the Whinging Wenger and Cesc Gobfull.. we owe them a kicking.. I have not forgotten that QF.. We've a stronger team now and if we beat them in one of these matches then I'm popping a bottle of champers.. true story
