As do kids who derail threads by taking false moral high ground. Hypocrite.

That article is a load of rubbish, he's only jealous because he'll never feel the same affection towards his club as Liverpool fans do. Southerners, and Londoners in particular, just don't get the bond between supporters and club that exists in places like Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle.

    KPR,

I think that just about says it for me but if you want to use it then feel free. I think you point about Dalglish just puts the icing on the cacke!

Dennis Bergkamp, Kenny Dalglish, Peter Beardsley, Paul Scholes and co. were just too slow for the English league IMO, they could've been top players but never had the pace of Walcott unfortunately, which is why Theo will always be better than them.

    lol <laugh>

You guys might be spending a lot but so will the other top 4 teams. Arsenal want silverware, Chelsea want to win again, Man City want to win (with there owner who seems to have endless cash) and Manchester United want another title. They've all got HUGE sums of cash, apart from Arsenal, but they already have a superb quality team which they are likely to add to. Don't get so ahead of yourself thinking that you'll have an easy top 4 finish, because I highly doubt that it will be so straightforward. Every major team is upping their game for next season - big style. Even Spurs want to be back in the CL.

Plus, Kenny's model is a very risky one for Liverpool. Whilst other teams are buying world class foreign talent, Liverpool seems to be buying young British talent with potential, but for HUGE prices. Some of these players may not necessarily be at the top of their game for a while yet, so I can't see everything seemlessly falling into place next season. You also have VERY costly players like Henderson, who has potential, but so far, hasn't shown much. Carroll is another one who hasn't lived up to expectations. It could pay off, but it's a risky approach, and a one which requires patience.

I agree with a lot of this to be honest but wait until the transfers are done and dusted.

    Dave.
My point about Kenny Dalglish proves that Schofield hasn't a clue what he's talking about. However, your post proves exactly the same thing, and was well thought out and expertly researched. And put into context what we've been saying all along.
    Well done.

It worked fine for Man Utd!

Although on a serious note, it will be tough getting into the top 4 next season, and I suspect we'll be counting a lot on Carroll and our new left winger, whoever he maybe, to strike up a partnership and hit the ground running next season.

No its not.It has more holes in it that a fishnet stocking.
Some of the points are fair but most of them have no real substance and aren't based on fact. Most of it is hearsay and presumption.

    Mr. Schofield.
In what feels like three days ago now you posted a comment saying that Liverpool under Woy would have finished the season in more or less the same place as we actually have. I don't doubt your experience but that comment is either a wind-up or the wildest speculation based on ignorance of the club. Woy is a decent bloke and a good manager but simply not right for Liverpool-there isn't a shred of evidence to support the idea that he could've turned it around.
Everyone can talk 'til they're blue in the face about why he didn't fit in but none of it matters- he didn't fit and that's all there is to it.
He's moved on and is doing well, and we are better without him. Everyone's a winner.

    Saintanton.
    Exactly.
Hodgson didn't get the club, and the players didn't get him(most of the time). His training methods and tactics were alien to them.Expecting Daniel Agger to hoof the ball instead of playing it from the back was ludicrous. He destroyed Glen Johnson.Kenny on the other hand gets the club.Even Rafa did.
Hodgson is at a level he's comfortable at.He's doing well because its his level.

Yeah it did, but it takes a while to fall into place. If Kenny wanted success ASAP, he would have been much better off delving into the foreign market and competing for some of the star players, who are likely to be cheaper.

However, he obviously has a long-term plan, so he's invested massive sums of cash in young British talent. He's got Jordan Henderson, he's got Andy Carroll and he WAS after Phil Jones. That's around £70million which he wanted to spend for three young British players who have potential, but aren't even THAT good yet. This is obviously a part (not all) of Dalglish's plan, and I honestly expect him to do more of the same in the coming months.

Potentially a brilliant plan if it works, but these plans are not without risk, and they do take a while to develop.

    Another good, balanced post Chappaz.

The blatant inaccuracy of that description invalidates anything else you choose to say.
