City 2 Sunderland 2 means City can no longer count on game in hand to overtake us or Scousers. Now its a straight fight as to who wins their remaining games. I know titles are not won on paper, but the winner between us and Pool might just decide the title now. Tough call for us with the Atletico game schedule, time to give Cole a run ??
This is gonna be a great game hopefully, with so much riding on it. I would seriously laugh if you guys could stop the dippers, but my heads telling me they'll be to good for you at home. With the CL games either side, you are likely to shuffle the pack abit, and I feel you will need your strongest 11 to pull it off. Atleast you have a striker in form now though, with Ba likely to get a run. I said from the start of the year, that he was better than the other 2, and it's taken Mourinho most of the season to finally realise it
Correct. If they draw v Norwich say and we can draw at their place they will be under huge pressure v Palace and Newcastle. If we can go 2 1 0, we can take it to the last day hopefully
Anfield game is obviously biggest game of the P.L season now but last night's result should highlight how unpredictable this league can be. If Sunderland can takes points of City at the Etihad then points can be dropped by any one of us in this run in any of the other games. Palace away is suddenly looking a very tricky game now and Liverpool and City both have to go there for instance. Can't see any one winning all their remaining fixtures.
Certainly did. But we shouldn't be writing off Sunderland by any means after last night and especially how poor we are against sides lower down the table. I hope Jose stops being silly by dismissing us for the title before and after games now!! We've got every chance of doing it.
So far we've dealt with pressure extremely well - and I don't see that changing. P.S. I agree with 'chelsea over 100 years of history' - and I can't see anyone winning all their remaining fixtures. There will be a couple of twists and turns right up until the wire imo.
Yep. But you can afford to draw v Norwich, us and maybe even Palace too, to win the league. Just say you go 2 2 0 you would win the title on GD even if we went 3 1 0. If you go 2 1 1 we need to go 3 1 0, there is no guarAntee we win all our games besides Anfield
What I would say though is that it is only really post the City game you are seen as the clear favourites. Despite that you know the title is as much in our hands as it is yours. I think this next game away at Norwich is a key fixture as it'll see how you deal with being favourites for the title in a tricky away tie with a couple of key players out (assuming Sturridge wont play). Pressure only builds as you approach the finish especially with as little room for error all 3 sides have now. Liverpool are the most inexperienced of the 3 sides with a title run in which could be a factor. Personally I think you will win it. Our C.L games will probably be the difference and I'd bet on a draw at Anfield.
My fear is that we have a great record against the top teams, and blow it against the lower teams! Beat Liverpool at Anfield and draw against Sunderland at SB!!
I think we should play Lucas, Gerrard, Allen to hustle them in the midfield but wont be too disappointed if we stick with our usual diamond.
I agree, this will be a very diffrent game we will need to cope with the physical side of the game that you lot bring, I don't see you attacking us like you did at City as Jose will know that we also like to counter his plan will be 0-0 at half time and frustrate us. In turn we have to be patient and understand that the goal or goals may come later in the game. Certainly going to be interesting.
Good posts on here from some more, lets say realistic, Liverpool supporters. Lets hope for a real cracker of a game, and at the end whoever comes out on top, be graceful in their victory, if it's a draw, then let the winners of the championship be amiable. It has been a rollercoaster season and for at least three of the teams supporters a very sad one. Iv'e been there It's not nice.
Firstly we need to get by a very tough Sunderland game! If we don't beat the Mackems then the Liverpool game is pretty much irrelevant so one step at a time! But yes.. If we beat Sunderland... The Liverpool game is nothing short of huge
Interesting comment, after watching Liverpool's man-handling of City in particular Skrtel and the very malicious Henderson I would argue that you already have that ability to bruise other teams to stem their creativeness in your game.
