Yep, same could be said for Wickham. A year or two of playing Poyet's system week in week out could do him the world of good

He's only got a year left. We must extend in the summer

Me too. Looking forward to seeing the lad I sit vector who said on Saturday gone "he's rubbish, I'd rather have Altidore playiNguyen up front"

Well Simon, see you a week on Sunday!

I always championed Wickam. Think you and I are a minority though 83. He may win others around. Wonderwhere we'd be in the league if he'd played 27 games (the amount altidore has)

We'd have been out of the relegation dog-fight.Playing a clown like Altidore instead of Conor has cost us big-time!!!

Granted Altidore has brought in the rest of the team to score

However the point of a striker is to score goals!

Glad Wickham is finally getting a run out!

I too have always championed Wickham, well taken goals against city, confidence up, may mean more goals to come. Sadly never in a month of Sundays would Altidore have scored either tonight.

Agreed, Wickham has never had a decent run in the side. If he had Dozy Antiscores chance, maybe .... who knows.... but tonight the lad showed his true potential, held the ball up well, had strength against the Prems best central defender, and finished with class. Big up Gus for ending his loan spell with Leeds. Now..... 10 pts from the remaining fixtures anyone ??????????

We're going down because the team is bad, not because of an individual.

Jozy played key roles in a lot of our wins

    "Some supporter you are!"

    Yeah...

Connor does deserve his chance, I'm not saying he doesn't. I'm saying our woes aren't down to Jozy. He's an easy scapegoat and many have decided he's to blame for everything. He's not

Poyet's Eleven, show me where I blamed Jozy for all our woes!!!I didn't,but I pointed out that he can't score goals, which as a centre-forward,is his job!Young Conor has proved tonght that he can score.

WTF? Yoy say well done Poyet, then mention Dozy Anti-score. This is Poyets **** up, out on loan, back again, out again, doing the hokey ****ing cokey.

Wickham's career has been up and down.

I was just about to get on here last night and say how bad Whickham was playing, ineffective, weak, far too soft and easily knocked off the ball, then he scores those two.
If he can just toughen up a bit I think he'll be ok, but I'll believe it when I see it.
We'll done to the lad anyway, he's kept us in there with a glimmer of hope.

Who is to say that Wickhams run at in the teams in the championship wasnt what he needed in order to come back and score against Man City ?

Poyet might have played him since the beginning of the season, but if he hadnt scored in the first 5 games, fans would have been on his back. He has now come into the team, with no expectations on him (as no one expects us to survive anymore) and has scored.

Unless you have a crystal ball, you have no way of knowing how it would have planned out if Wickham hadnt gone out on loan.

Where is that poster 'parkersomething' the big defender of Dozy.

Now two goals do not a summer make, but I do wonder if Wickham had had more starts would he have gotten onto scoring more? We will never know cos' dozy was in possession. Also I reckon Poyet thought Fletcher would be back.

He marked aguero out on many occasions last night and notice how almost all their moves came down the left, not his right side. He is way better than he looks, and knows how to use the ball. I don't understand why he gets so much unwarranted **** off our lot. A solid, non-nonsense CH who can stick their nut on the ball ( with aim) next to him would be good.

Well done Gus and the team last night, a point would have been a brilliant result under different circumstances. It was only one game but it gives everyone a bit of hope for the future. If only Catts had better ball control and Oshea could actually head a ball we could be a mid table side.

    Aye whatever..

Wickham get's 2 goals, well done, chuffed for him.

Who sent him on loan, and played a yank plank instead?

Which useless daft yank plank has scored once?

Wickham played a blinder, but is he now the saviour?

I suggest all the daft ****ers thinking 'yes' re read some previous threads Fickle ****ers.
