And let's not forget that while other teams sent lawyers to observe the tyre test hearing, Red Bull sent Horner.
ah, the utter hypocrisy, much finger pointing by the known sneaky cheaters and their fans against a team who openly breach the rules and told everyone at the time what they were doing. This isn't about 'rules' and 'fairness', it's all about jealousy. Unlike Renault, Mercedes & Ferrari, Red bull were open with what they did and didn't try their hardest to cover up what they had done with lies and deceit. But please feel free to continue with your double standards
What a hypocrite!!!! Remember Horner at the Pirelli-Mercedes tyre test hearing? Marko should really keep quiet. Marko: Weâre amazed by aggressiveness that Mercedes used to argue against us 16 April, 2014 Helmut Marko with Niki Lauda Outspoken Red Bull Motorsport Consultant Helmut Marko has hit back at Mercedes, after the German squad this week called on the court of appeal to come down hard on the World Champions. As Red Bull appealed Daniel Ricciardoâs Melbourne disqualification in Paris on Monday, a lawyer for rival Mercedes argued at length that the FIA should in fact impose âa further sanctionâ, due to the âflagrant and deliberateâ rules breach. Ultimately, the five judges upheld Ricciardoâs disqualification, but did not add to Red Bullâs penalty. âWe are obviously bitterly disappointed,â the always-blunt Red Bull director Marko said after digesting the courtâs decision. Helmut Marko with Daniel Ricciardo and Christian Horner âWe cannot say any more until we get the detailed reasons for the judgement, but what amazed us even more was the language and aggressiveness that our competitor Mercedes used to argue against us,â he is quoted by Austriaâs Kleine Zeitung newspaper. Less publicly angry is the affable Australian Ricciardo himself, who although having sprayed the champagne on his home-race podium, is in fact yet to officially bank a Formula 1 trophy. âItâs disappointing not to get the 18 points from Australia,â he said on Wednesday, âbut if anything it gives me more motivation to get back on the podium as soon as possible. âAs I said that week, Iâd rather have a great race, finish on the podium and then be excluded than to have had a rubbish race and then retire with a car problem half way through,â Ricciardo added. I did laugh at your first sentence. You make it sound like it's okay to brazenly show the world you are cheating and that makes it alright! Maybe the FIA's umming up should have said "Actually RBR, as you were publicly defiant against us and showed the world your sheer arrogance in ignoring the rules on live television, we will give you back your 18 points and heartily recommend you ignore us again. You little bunch of hellraisers you!"
Whenever i visit this place i always get reminded of the Local Shop from League of Gentlemen, except it's more like the Lewis Hamilton Museum/Gift Shop.
I take there were no images of people sticking their penis into a blender on Google? More fun than going over this same ground over and over.
Gah! An F1 controversy is like Christmas. We get a new decoration every year to put on the tree and as we bring down the decorations from the loft we get to reminisce on previous years. Hamilton is the fairy at the top standing proud. a few of the decorations have been hidden round the back of the tree. Come on lets see the Benetton traction control bauball. Im suprised the BAR ornament has been found in the box. I Havnt seen it in years.
Yer piquet Sr got stood on. Piquet Jr is one of those annoying decorations that is bigger than it should be and keeps slipping of the branch
I can't get my head around where this thread is going/gone......but I fail to see the logic in any argument that justifies the defence of one team based on another teams previous integrity, or lack of. It's like comparing serial killers andy using double jeopardy as a moral barometer!
I'm quite new and I like it. Am I wrong? Or more accurately, I lurked for ages and then decided I would join in every once in a while. If your problem with the forum is perceived Hamilton-centricness you have clearly never visited any other Formula 1 forums because this one is a hell of a lot more balanced than most. There are a lot of forums which are like this thread has become, just a sort of tribal shouting match. Returning to the point in hand, I do not understand the argument that says that if you disobey the rules openly then you are somehow less guilty than if you do it covertly. I don't think disagreeing with it makes anyone a hypocrite.
