I see they're suddenley red-hot favourites to name him as new boss. Well watch them go if they do - this guy is a new breed of football coach who makes Mourinho and Guardiola look like Graham Taylor.
You can't deny him he's had great success in Portugal, but i think this move will be too much for him. Abramovic isn't someone you want to work for, plus Chelsea's team is ageing quite a bit and the newer players have nowt on Terry, Fat Frank, Anelka, Drogba, Malouda etc etc. How much they saying he'll go for?
His record is exceptionally good, but he'll cost them a few quid, I think his contract buy-out clause is £13m.
Hulk release clause is 100 million euros and Porto president won't sell him for less this year. Falcão is another thing, just 30 million release clause and he's a predator in the area. Very very good.
I find it weird how these staggering prices for footballers has become normal, everyday practise that 30 million Euros is naff all and is said to be " a bargain" or a "snip at just 30 mill euros".
Football Manager is the proper way to do fantasy managing If they appoint Villas-Boas it has to be a long-term decision. I know Abramovich doesn't do long-term, but maybe he has come to the realisation that chopping and changing the manger every season won't win him the Champions League. This guy will make it big wherever he goes though. When he was 21 he managed the British Virgin Islands, only telling their football association his age when he left!
Agreed. I only started going to football and taking an interest 10 years ago, and I've noticed big changes in everything from the media to the players, from the transfer fees to the wages, from the atmosphere at the games to the attitude of the fans, etc. God-knows what an old bastard like Lamby or Saggy feels like.
