Best footballing brain I've seen in the championship. Confidence player but always works hard. Don't let him take penalties. Not for sale.
He is going to Cagliari obviously the best from both clubs will be there eventually, leaving Leeds with all the dross Didnt he send a Cagliari reserve over to Leeds earlier ? can see how Cellino s mind is working now http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2014...ian-media-i-want-to-see-leeds-united-strike/?
Some have started to not rate him as much since the turn of the year here but they hjave short memories imo. My genuine opinion on him would be he is by far and away our best player, leads by an excellent example and works harder than anyone else on that pitch without a doubt. Until this season his goalscoring wasn't his strongest asset, he was never bad in front of goal (except his first season here when he was very low on confidence) but his strongest asset imo. was always his workrate and ability to pick out passes, unlock defences and be that little bit more creative rather than finishing the moves. If you look at it, after his first season here he has either topped our goalscoring charts our assist charts, this season he has topped both. I think he easily has what it takes to move up a division, he doesn't rely on pace as he drops quite deep and then likes to turn and look up with the ball. He has off days but its not hard to see why in a team that has no other creativity around him. All we need to do is keep him away from penalties. I think we are fools if we believe we can make a squad worthy of challenging for promotion if we sell our best player after every season. We need to sell players that aren't good enough, not the minority who clearly are. We need to add quality to the squad rather than selling quality then spending time trying to replace it.
Recon it will work the other way around,Talented Italians coming to Leeds no worries.Mighty's hopes for the future shot down in flames again.
His name shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentance as them.... He is the ultimate finisher but his lack of effort pisses me off, he constantly watches defenders win the ball and is absolutely **** scared of getting hurt. Has a massive chip on his shoulder (probably deservedly) but last 6 or so games he's been terrible
Cellino won't sell our best player. As he himself said "if you sell the fridge to buy some beers, where the **** do you put the beers?" Classic
... wouldn't be Vardy ... ... I pretty much agree with this independent article which is an evaluation of our current squad in terms of next season (based on the Reading game on Monday to some extent) ... look at the contrast between Vardy and Nugent ... so you never know ... Nuge might be a possibility ... http://thetwounfortunates.com/which...which-of-leicester-citys-players-will-step-up
Well Nugent has proved he can't hack it in the Prem with Pompey so I think a deal which see's him go to Leeds would be good, he alway's does well at Championship level, then when we get promoted we can offload him to Milwall to help their survival bid after they get promoted back from lge 1
Look at how well or not Beckford has done since leaving and Becchio, they haven't set the world alight for their new teams. Ross does have a chip on his shoulder and for around the £6m mark we COULD get much better and have some change. I am not saying sell him but every player has his price, £6m back into the squad plus some decent funding from Cellino and we might assemble a promotion challenging squad.
For £6m, I wouldn't begrudge him leaving, and you're right; we could do a lot with the money. I'm just sick of selling our best players! Even if we do reinvest the money back into the squad for once, it's still the whole 'selling club' nature, it just frustrates me.
I agree but it sounds like our wage structure has gone out the window, there are reports that we are paying some players or have been £25k a week to play for us this season and that isn't on. I have no idea what Ross is on but you can bet it will be looked at. I read a report that Cellino feels Murphy and Ross are the class players of the team, if true I doubt he would be sold. In the past it would have worried me (his possible sale) but now we have an owner who I feel more confident in. An owner who isn't in it for the money, sure he won't have a bottomless pit of money but at least he wants to make us stable and not be losing money every week. To do this he needs to strip back everything and plug all the holes where we are bleeding money out. If Ross goes at the end of this season I don't feel it would hinder us, if he had went at the start of this season we would be bolloxed. The way I see it is we have been a shambles this season, a disgrace at times and an embarrassment, for that reason I don't care who goes because as a team collective it just hasn't worked. I agree with another poster, I would keep most of the defence despite the thrashings as I feel they are not all bad however what do I know, I just hope whoever is in charge next season gets it right with who we keep who we let go and who we bring in.
Agree that Ross won't repeat this season ... £6m should settle the argument and he'll be sold ... I expect at least four clubs to come in for him, and here's a newsflash, QPR will bid if they get promoted ... Leicester will probably finish top half next season because in truth the teams outside the top 8 are all Championship level Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
