Just for interest I'm going for 3 at Exeter: 15.35 Take The Crown stands out because it sports the famous dark blue and light blue quarters of Wycombe Wanderers 16.40 Chosen Milan - provided it's not odds on 17.45 King's Tempest has to give weight to some interesting newcomers. Price should be decent with money coming for at least one of those.
The Torygraph have suggested that Gok Wan is going to be doing the fashion for Channel 4 racing. Just when it couldn't get any worse, they do that!!!
They should let the old boy have a go at the racing as well. He couldnât do any worse than Graham Cunningham, Mick Fitzgerald, Gina Bryce, Richie Persad or the Plunkett mare. I always think that fashion pieces on the racing progs these days are so, so dull as they tell us how wonderful everyone looks and how fantastic they are dressed. Total nonsense as in reality, as anyone who has been to Royal Ascot in recent terms will acknowledge, for every âEnglish roseâ there are at least 50 âdogâs dinnersâ. The best at the fashion that I can recall was that acerbic little fellow on the Beeb. He used to cry, âOoooooooooooooooooooooooooh noooooooooooooooooooâ whenever he saw a Chav type whilst his quote of âMutton dressed as Muttonâ was simply legendary! Onto todayâs racing, pilgrims, are we all salivating at the thought of Mr Hendersonâs COCKTAILS AT DAWN???

Nothing wrong with a bit of chicken in a stew, old boy. Admittedly I did raise a puzzled eyebrow (a la Roger Moore in the ‘James Bond’ films) when I found out that it was chicken as 90% of the time we are fed beef stew but I didn’t complain as it was first class. Once again though they cut the carrots far too thickly. That was the only reason the 9/10 wasn’t higher.
Not Guilty, M’Lud. What do the great brains think about Aljamaaheer going sprinting this term then (Abernant Stakes, Thursday)?!? At first I was so surprised my monocle fell out. But on reflection it looks a weak division this term and he’s never been short of speed. Intriguing and brave move by old boy Varian, methinks.
For the record. Braised beef pie, with a rebellious potato top, rather than the puff pastry that normally gets placed above. Was pretty good, with celeriac and broad beans to garnish the plate.
just recently started using betfair lads and not quite sure how exactly it all works yet but I know one thing now and that is that just before that first race there at exeter there was a massive amount of money staked on that Saddlers Encore to win and it goes and gets up ! It was reading at £2600 odd in the "back" column compared with highest of £152 for that mccoy horse. Must watch things like that more often to see if I can figure it out !
2:30 Exeter - Billy Dutton 12/1 Won this last year and been campaigned mainly over fences this term. Won over hurdles last time out and is only 6lb higher than for last years win. No reason why it won't run well this time. 3:00 Exeter - Orange Nassau 11/2 In great form this season. Steps up in trip after winning by 25 lengths over a small field last time out. Up 11lb in a competitive race but again, no reason why it shouldn't go close. Each way double for me.
I know nothing about the Exchanges Dave. Never went through the learning process in case I got tempted in; and I don't have money to risk. However £2,600 doesn't sound like a lot to me. Was it matched? In the Market Movers section of ATR does that take into account money placed on the Exchanges or is it just based on a pool of conventional bookmakers. The problem with coups being placed on the Exchanges is that they are too easily monitored so I just wondered if the real coups were carried out by several less conspicuous bets placed in betting shops and on course by a team.
