Elliot is so ****ing gash I'd rather have Shola in goal.
It's wrong to grill Elliot like that though. Of course he is gonna stick up for the boss.
    I blame global warming.

and we wonder why fans of other clubs take the piss out of Newcastle fans?

Whoever wrote this article is a first class knob. How the hell was a player meant to respond? They have no idea who they are talking to. He was just as likely to wake up to a back page Sun story reading that he'd slagged off Pardew and Ashley for all he knew. That idiot was so out of order to do this to one of our players.

As for the headline "Rob Elliot allegedly embarrasses himself at nightclub" - I read that as "I'm about to write a load of bollocks to try and make my pathetic excuse of a life look better but as long as I stick in 'allegedly' I can't get sued for it!"

If you take everything you read on here as Gospel, you'll end up grey haired and wrinkled before your time.

Perhaps we aren't bigger than Southampton, but we probably get 20k more a game than you, make a handsome profit nearly every transfer window, yet we are given **** on the pitch, and **** off it. Maybe we're just a bit sick of it? Still, you know best. <ok>

This is it for me. Not a man jack among us feels we should be in the CL. There's probably more geordies want Pardew to stay than believe we're a CL club. But to just be able to regularly compete with teams....ahh, now wouldn't THAT be somethin'?! To spend what we SHOULD to remain a good PL side. To play decent, attacking football and spend the money on players that make us better.

One of the worst things I've read in my life as a Newcastle fan came from Lee Charnley recently. When FIFA launched their Financial Fair Play regulations, the aim was to keep things sustainable, so that clubs weren't putting their very futures at risk. However, with this came flexibility of significant sums of money - Chelsea posted £50m losses in one of these FFP years, but having posted a £1.2m profit (however they fudged the figures) in the other year, they're "ok"! Now this brings me around to good auld Lee, who said we hadn't only "met" the FFP expectations, but "exceeded" them. Now who, in the name of Fcuk, does that benefit, exactly? Rhetorical question, we all know the sole beneficiary of this utter bullsh1t.

Under FFP, any club can make as much of a loss as they like, just as long as the owner(s) put equity in rather than the club take out loans to pay for losses. FFP is not going to stop Chelsea or Man City in any way spending huge amounts on players and running up losses.

Unfortunately we do not have such a generous owner and we will have to break even at the very least. No problem here though because we are being run at a significant profit right now (I'm guessing £30m this year excluding player trading). Like you say, exceeding the regulations is just an admission that Ashley is doing very well out the arrangement.

Not really a fan of Elliot, but confronting people that way is bang out of order. I mean what do people think that Elliot can say in any case. Even if he's not contractually bound to support the club's management explicitly - which he almost certainly is - he's not really that free to speak his mind either.

Yes, the club is totally showing a lack of ambition. And yes something should be done about it. Berating rob Elliot is not what's needed however.

Ben Arfa is the laziest bastard in the squad but he's easily the most technical player.

And he's assisted 6 goals and scored 3.

No point in working hard if you're not going to score. Ben Arfa should be playing the next 4 games, and then he can **** off in the summer.
