Here goes: Allocation will be just over 25,000 but unlike last year no extra tickets will be made available because both arsenal and city will sell out allocation and there will not be 4,000 or so held back like they did for Wigan last year We have a shade under 18,000 season ticket holders, with 15,033 over 16 ticket holders, as shown by the recent ballot, meaning circa 3,000 u16's of which a significant majority are u10's as passes were between £23 and £46 for this season..... Uptake of final tickets will not be 100% there are a good number of pass holders who have never been and probably never have intentions of going away, even for the cup, also a lot of u16's go with their fathers, mothers, etc, a significant amount of these will also not travel for the cup final as shown by proportion of children in semi final crowd, a lot lower than any match at the kc by my reckoning With all this I would expect uptake of final tickets to be around 90% tops which is circa 16200, but say for arguments sake it's 95% which is 17,100 tops, leaving around 8000 for general sale or corporates Corporates will account for most of these, imagine if you have a company wanting to sponsor city for let's say, £1000 but for that they get a couple of cup final tickets thrown in, or even sponsor us for next year and get dibs for final tickets, I would expect the marketing department to be working overtime approaching potential new and old sponsors, just imagine, you could approach 1000 businesses each paying 1000 and offer them say a ticket every £500 they sponsor the club for, that would net our owners £1millon without too much sweat Of course sponsorship is usually significantly more than this £1000 does not buy you much at today's prices at premier league clubs, so for decent sponsorship, say a company decides to spend £5k.... Why would you not offer them 10 tickets if they have to still pay for them.... A no brainer to me..... Opportunity to net millions for the club Now as for general sales, I would hazard a guess that not many would make it this far, but in the owners interest and for PR some will........ But try this on for size, buy a pass for next year and guarantee your cup final ticket....... Same principles as sponsorship, buy a season pass at say £500 at full price and then you can net £1million if you sell say another 2000 full price passes, but of course you take up a seat next season so therefore corporates advertising at cost to the company rather than a cost to Joe blogs personally is always going to be preferred So quick calculations are I would expect: 16,000-17,100 in pass holder sales ( club will always say 18,000 that way they can hide more in corporate and general sales... Uptake will not be 100%) 5,000 in corporate tickets ( massive opportunity to make money for the club here) 2,000 in new pass holder sales, first come first serve 1,000 - 2,000 in general sales, decided by how many games attended over season at home games rather than any away as away sales do not directly benefit the club cash wise P.s would not be surprised to see existing pass holders who renew their passes getting priority over tickets..... As in first choice, all though all pass holders will get a ticket P.p.s tickets off touts are going for between 400 and 420 already, just invest in a season pass and save yourself a load
If we only sold 26500 for yesterday, wouldn't the club just do the same as they did for the semi final with the tickets? There would only be 1500 less for general sale.
I think you've made some rather wayward assumptions there. The 18,000 season ticket holders includes corporate members and as anyone not using their ticket is likely to get it for someone else, I'd say roughly 100% of the season ticket applications will be taken. A corporate season ticket is well over a grand already and will only entitle you to the one pass, same as everyone else. There might be additional allocations for the main sponsors like MKM, Hugdell etc, but these companies are spending five to six figures on their sponsorship deals. I expect it to be one ticket per pass and then an allocation to people who've attended a certain amount of games(it will be a damn site more than two) and there will be no general sale.
I'd hope those who went yesterday get the chance, as I'm in that bracket. I live away and only get to do 3-4 a season now. There are going to be many similar stories of justification over the next 48 hours though
Not all passholders can travel olm, some for medical reasons, in fact I know quite a few, that cannot travel for that reason, then there are those who have booked trips, I know a couple but not a lot who are frantically trying to change holiday plans Also the ticket office will only sell tickets in the same category as your pass. I had a problem this seasonal for arsenal away whereby I was not allowed to upgrade as I was not sure the kids could get time off school This post is only from what I have heard and know so have put it together, but seems sound from a business point of view, I expect main sponsors, those who spend 10's of thousands to get as many as they want within reason, I.e. Not to sell You never know olm, premier club or whatever it is called maybe allowed a second ticket because of the cost of their passes But it makes sense and is within keeping of allams of business maximisation whilst the clubis so marketable to sell sell sell, Just a thought, but we will be there olm so don't worry
