Figgy should get the MoM for his improved second half performance, it made a massive difference to the team
Huddlestone Meyler Livermore Good to see Aluko getting back into some sort of form and I hope we give Matty a new deal, he's a great player to have in reserve.
Livermore Huddlestone Meyler Runs from midfield were brilliant yesterday. 4 of the goals came from midfielders storming forward. That's something we haven't seen enough of in recent years.
Fryatt - his movement up front was superb, always moving off the ball to create space for others and himself, caused Shef U real problems and was one of the major differences in the second half Aluko - gave Shef U something different to defend against, willing to drop deep and run at them, whereas for the first 45 mins we passed side to side with no real attacking intent Huddlestone - best player on the pitch in the second half but was as poor as the others in the first half so putting him 3rd.
Fully agree but it's a shame those runs didn't also go the other way in the first half and we may not have found ourselves going behind twice. 2nd was absolutely criminal, nobody at all tracking the late run into the box.
Huddlestone (what a first touch for his goal, thought he's stretch too far and pull a hammy) Meyler Davies
imo, Davies and Chester had shockers (by there very high standards in the first half - 2 awful goals to give away). so... 1) Jake Livermore 2) Tom Huddldestone 3) Matty Fryatt (unlucky to have a good 2nd goal ruled out for offside).(just pipped Meyler)
First goal was Boyd's fault, he doubled up with figgy on the winger and left the RB open for the throw, by the time he got to him the ball had been crossed in. Second was Rosie's for losing out on the wing, then Davies rushed out to the open man but Huddlestone was too slow to cover the man Davies left for him.
