Of the potentially attainable managers (i.e. not Pochettino, Klinsmann, Moyes), I'd consider Bruce, Magath and Rosler. Bruce has done a decent job at almost every club he has been at and knows the club inside out. Magath, who would surely be interested in the job if Fulham get relegated, has a good record at numerous clubs and would stand up to Ashley. Rosler, obviously doesn't have the same experience as the other two, but he is intelligent and prefers an offensive and flowing style of football.

Pardew is a dead duck - even Ashley will now recognise this.

Moyes and Bruce both are talented coaches but neither are particularly keen on watchable football.

    For me the shortlist is:

    Leonardo
    Rosler
    De Boer

I've gone for Rosler as a genuinely attainable target, who would hopefully fulfill the distant dream of effective attacking football. Maybe he'd instill some German organisation and efficiency also.

Out of interest, why do you think Pochettino is unattainable for us? He's already admitted he could leave Southampton at the end of the season because of Cortese leaving but that he wants to stay in England. Is he out of our league?

No, just out of Ashley's league.

I suspect Spurs will approach him at the end of this season because Tim Sherwood seems to have really struggled coaching in the Prem.

Tim Sherwood ought to try the Championship or League one to hone his craft, Tottenham is too big a project for him right now.

    Really?

He picked Ian Dowie as his assistant and pretty much killed his chance with that single appointment.

Having watched Shearer bore people to tears on MOTD, I have gone off the idea, he lacks personality in my opinion - probably the greatest player we have ever had but I really don't think football management is for him <ok>

I think Steve Clarke was doing a decent job at West Brom and I would happily give him a go.

Pardew is bang-average, always has been, but with no backing from Ashley, it will make little difference who is in charge.
