Great result for our neighbours fair play. Still think they'll go down though. Apparently The Saints were much the better side but couldn't finish. Doesn't bode well for England this Summer.
Makes for an exciting end to the season. Looking more likely that the Sunderland match will be the decider for us. Looking on the bright side, there's always the parachute payments to fall back on.
Not so sure actually. 1) Sunderland lost 2) Cardiff won - obviously bad 3) Fulham 1 Norwich 0 - not sure what the best result would have been there. Norwich now in deep **** and still below us, Fulham could easily survive 4) West Brom from 3-0 up to 3-3 is a huge relief. 5) Palace 1 Villa 0 - that keeps Villa only a point above us and ready for us to overtake them. We'll let Palace go - Pulis will grind out some more 1-0 wins. Lots of twists and turns to come. Tense times ahead.
Even after a couple of odd results today I still have Cardiff, Fulham and Sunderland in the bottom three at the end of the season although given Norwich next 5 games I can see Fulham or Cardiff climbing out of the drop zone. Sunderland to play - US, Cardiff, WBA, Man U, Chelsea and City. (Can't see them getting 9 points that might scrape them up) Fulham to play - Spurs, Hull, Stoke, Palace (Could they get 5 points+ from that? Not the way they have played but they could do it.) Cardiff to play - Stoke, Sunderland, Newcastle, Chelsea (6 points from that is possible but 4 is more likely - a bit of complacency from others could yield 9 points and that would make life interesting) Norwich to play - Liverpool, ManU, Arsenal, Chelsea (Can't see them getting anything) US to play - Chelsea, Newcastle, Villa, Soton, Sunderland (Who knows? At best I'd say 6 points but get the jitters and it could be curtains. Possibly down to goal difference so that's the good news) West Brom to play - ManC, West Ham, Arsenal, Sunderland, Stoke (4 Points is probable 6 a maybe, either way it would put them just above us and then it could all be down to Cardiff and Fulham) I'll be gutted to lose tomorrow but I really don't expect any points. A decent result IMO would be to avoid fatigue, bookings and injuries tomorrow.
I'm sure you will say you are being realistic, but you can be a negative, miserable sod when it suits
I think 2 wins will keep us safe, and we will get it. Villa, Newcastle and Sunderland are there for the taking. And I fancy our chances against Southampton at home. The only game that I expect nothing from is tomorrows match. My predictions/expectations: Chelsea, L Newcastle, D Villa, W Southampton , D Sunderland, W Total 41 points safe!
Right Job's comforter you are turning out to be mate, for goodness sake calm down will you, like a pregnant woman on this thread, we are still 15th and everything to play for. We are not going down, how many times have I got to repeat that!.................
agree dragon, it could get nervy as you have 2 difficult games coming up but swansea have something no bottom half team has, which is a goalscorer (humble pie eaten )…….
Good result for you swamp fair play, but make sure that Porthcawl pensioner doesn't get too excited!.............
Popping over to wish you luck today. I really would love you to get a result against Chelsea, so that when we meet them in the last match they will have nothing to play for Overall, I just can't believe that you guys aren't safe yet but as you have some scoring potential I am confident you will be in the very near future. I am still amazed that ML got sacked and Monk brought in! Think you would have been safe by now with ML, but that is just speculation I guess. Good luck lads.
I'm not quite clear how airing a possible scenario somehow indicates a desire for it to actually happen.
Let's be honest this season the team has given enough reason to feel pessimistic. Is there any other team that blows as hot and cold as us?
I never thought of excitement being negative. Just looking on the bright side. Just pointing out that every cloud has a silver lining. Wrong. I want us to stay up, but think we are getting close to going down now. Too close for comfort. Although a win could easily change all that. The are getting squeaky arses so have to find a scapegoat. Explain. We get get relegated. We'll get parachute payments if we do. I want us to stay up. Not sure what's wrong with all that. Maybe a few can't take the reality. But it's real folks. You might like to stick your head in the sand, but I prefer to see what's right in front of me. Hiding won't make it all go away.
We have the players and the style of play to stay here in the Premier League, and we are due some rub of the green, today is a day our players will rise to the occasion, as they always do against the top teams, we only lost at The bridge by 1 goal in December, and our players will want to upset José the 'special one' so I'm staying positive, even if we should lose, there are still games to take points from before Sunderland, so time to stay cool!.................
I think we'll do much better today than most fans think. We always seem to play well against the top teams. Only downside is that we tent to lose. But like you say, our luck must be due to change. This could be the match that gets us more or less safe.
