We were the home team and again had less possession 45% to 55% but at least we managed 5 shots on target. I don't believe between now and the end of the season it matters any longer, none of the players over the course of a season have shown why they should be in next seasons starting 11 and my bet is most of them won't be.

Football stats on possession It is not judged on time in possession, nor by any connection to having possession of the ball. It is a flawed calculated figure based on pass statistics. For example, team A has possession of the ball for 8 seconds and undertakes 10 short triangle passes before being tackled in the cntre circle. The tackler undertakes an 8 second mazy dribble before scoring. You may think that possession would be 50% each. But the stats calculated by opta would show 100% possession for team A A more accurate description of this calculation is "passing style"
Players showed passion yesterday. Was nice to see! Managed to wangle myself a freebie to a game I wasn't planning on going to so got to see a gritty performance and a great win for the lads!
