It's actually BBC Newcastle to blame, or BBC Ashley as they should be known. They simply must improve their grovelling skills if they are to avoid a ban.

Nope, in fact I totally agree with you. We were no better than in the previous couple of games, but somehow got away with just a 1-0 defeat due to their shameful profligacy in front of goal.

I've never felt as disconnected with the team as I do now. I don't like the way it's being run, I don't like the manager, I don't like most of the players, and I don't like the way the club has p*ssed on its proud traditions and its fanatically loyal fan base. It feels like our club has been completely hijacked, and we're powerless to stop it. It sometimes literally feels pointless to support Newcastle United in its current incarnation.

Nothing but a root-and-branch overhaul will do. Unfortunately, as Ashley is unlikely to be leaving any time soon, the best we can hope for is that Pardew digs his own grave and is eventually replaced. Anything that contributes to that - including regular drubbings - is therefore a sorry step in the right direction (particularly as we are safe for the season). I really hope we finish 11th this season. Then Pardew can't hide behind the excuse that he achieved the top 10 finish the club were aiming for.

Cant agree with hoping we lose, not for me.
Whatever the situation, I've never wanted us to lose a game in my life and I'm not about to start now.
When I attend SJP next week I will do so wanting us to win, expecting a win.

Personally I don't subscribe that finishing 11th will make any difference to what happens with regard to Pardew.

Kind of getting used to losing 4-0 so 1-0 was quite a relief.
Even the Stoke fans were asking us how Pards was still in a job.

100% Regardless how bad it gets, being glad or wishing us to lose should never enter a fans head. It is shameful. The hole premise of being a fan and loyalty is sticking with the team through thick and thin regardless of manager and/or owner.

Personally I thought we were a lot better 1st half today, a lot better. We actually played ok apart from our embarrassing attack. 2nd half was back to the levels of previous weeks as we lost faith and Stoke, as they are allowed to, improved. The players are fragile, the manager lost for ideas. The subs were appalling even though I'd be happy to never see HBA in black and white ever again. Not fit to wear the shirt (in both senses of the word).

They didn't create masses but Crouch had good chances and could easily have been 2 or 3.

    That's different.
If we try then I'm happy.
Right now we don't even try.

@HanoiToon: Blaming the media proved to be the Pardew Pearl Harbour. Newcastle Chronicle & Journal have joined the war. Late but it helps. #nufc

Even my mate who is a Stoke fan was speechless when she saw that article. The Mackems are also talking about it on their board. The guy has actually lost the plot.

Quite. If both teams keep their managers for the next two seasons then the Mackems can only be the more optimisitic for the long term.

Another thing that might make MA take some action was that a lot of the guys at the game were saying they wouldn't renew their ST's while Pardew was still here and would just go on a match by match basis.

I'd rate him ahead of Gordon Lee, Richard Dinnis, Bill McGarry, Jack Charlton, Iam MacFaul, Ossie Ardiles, Ruud Gullit, probably Souness and possibly a few I've burned from my memory too. We have had it so much worse than this in the past. In fact, apart from half a dozen years in the mid nineties and turn of the millenium I'm not sure we've had it much better in the last 40 years or so.

The last 4-6 weeks I have completely switched off. Being a fan since I was 4 (now 35) defeats used to hurt. Now it does not for some reason. I think it is because the regime has systematically taken away all the fun that is associated with being a football fan.

Lets not lose focus here, being a fan is not having blind faith. But being loyal, supportive and above all else in love with your club. At least two of these 3 points have been seriously tested in recent weeks.

I have a feeling the last home game of the season will be Pardew's last. I honestly do not know what Ashley has over him but there must be something. Any manager in Pardew's position in modern day football would be seriously under pressure and would most likely have lost his job, not only for the results but because of the crap he comes out with.

I would say keep the faith,,,,.... But theres not much left to cling onto atm!
