We've been rumoured to be in for him every season since promotion to the Championship. Word is he's very slow but an excellent tackler, has good positional awareness and doesn't get beaten in the air. Huge step from L1 to the PL though.
We need some more for ALL our cups games next season,. We have enough quick players he can play alongside who can cover that issue.
I was reading one of the Sheff United boards and they think we've already agreed a deal to sign him in the summer, they're only talking about a £250k fee.
Well he'll set you back a couple of million. Personally I don't think a squad player is worth it. He'll go to a top end Championship side.
Great pace for the winning goal but utter gash with a tame shot when other players had much better positions with a simple pass.
I saw him quite a few times couple of years ago. I didnt realise he was so young. Very strong in the tackle and as you say not quick. But a good prospect. He'll definitely have to leave in the close season to give him self a chance. Cant believe Porter is playing for them and scoring. They hated him when i saw him. He was only coming on for Cresswell after he tired, alongside Ched. One thing i will say about Sheff U. They turn on their players very quickly, slightest mistake and they're at them.
There must be more than 10, maybe more than 20, maybe even more clubs than that in the FL who use that little tune. I'm struck by how rife it is every time I watch the FLS, and it's just a really, really annoying thing.
BBC's Preview: Midfielder Tom Huddlestone returns to the Hull City squad for Sunday's FA Cup semi-final against League One Sheffield United at Wembley. Huddlestone was left out of last week's win against Swansea as a precaution but is back, with manager Steve Bruce reporting no fresh injury concerns. Sheffield United are without striker Billy Paynter, who is cup-tied. But boss Nigel Clough hopes striker Chris Porter and defender Terry Kennedy will be available after minor knocks. Porter has already scored four goals during the Blades' impressive run to Wembley, and the 30-year-old former Derby forward wants to add Hull to United's list of FA Cup scalps that includes Aston Villa and Fulham. Porter's last Wembley experience ended in defeat against Huddersfield after a penalty shootout in the League One play-off final in May 2012. "That was so intense and there was so much pressure," recalled Porter. "It was all focused on the game, whereas this time we'll be able to take it in. "Being the underdogs, we'll be able to enjoy the day more." United boss Clough does not have to worry about disappointing any of his players by leaving them out of the squad - all 18 of his senior players are in contention for the match at Wembley. "No-one will not be involved. We only have an 18-man squad," said Clough, whose side are 11th in the third tier. Hull manager Bruce was in charge of the Blades between July 1998 and May 1999 before resigning. It was his first job a manager, with Bruce going on to take charge of Huddersfield, Wigan (twice), Crystal Palace, Birmingham and Sunderland. "I've had a couple of breaks in there, been sacked, resigned a couple of times," added Bruce. "Why do I keep coming back? Because of days like Sunday." Bruce won the FA Cup three times as a player with Manchester United, and now he wants to experience winning the competition as a manager. "It's not often you get to an FA Cup final as a player or a manager," he said. "It's taken me 16 years to get to a semi-final, so that shows you."
