Good Morning Everyone Thank goodness its Friday! Its refreshing to see pictures of Massimo Cellino in the Peacock enjoying a few pints. What I can't believe is that GFH missed a pretty good PR photo opportunity! Whilst supping the odd pint Cellino had this to say “I pay what I have to pay,” Cellino says. “The difference between Leeds and Cagliari is that at Cagliari we pay the wages and we pay everyone. At Leeds they pretend. They pretend to pay people. And now there’s a pile of s**t. “I’m not a man who earns money at night and spends it in the morning. I respect money, and not just mine. People try to say I’m a thief but I tell you I’m not. I never will be. Not because I can’t steal but because I choose not to. I pay what I owe.” The 57-year-old hopes the League will leave him be. He does not fear another courtroom exchange. “That’s not a problem for me or Leeds,” he says. “Ask the League, I cannot answer that. But believe me I don’t care. I’m here. “The League were really tricky, they made trouble at a time when I couldn’t walk away and I submitted myself to a trial, a humiliation – public humiliation. I don’t want to be here if the Football League don’t want me but who are they anyway? “They are acting for what’s right, the principles, the ideals. Me, I sort out the f****** problems at Leeds. I prefer to play by the rules, not to cheat.” Tomorrow McDermott will have been in charge at Elland Road for one year exactly. How would we sum up his first year tenure in a few words? The Football League will NOT object to the independent QC's findings regarding Cellino. I'm sure it was all just a little mistake, maybe it was lost in translation, perhaps they'll opologise?
Like I said GFH didn't stick to their promises fan interaction was poor. Fans forum tickets are still in my wallet...
Good morning!!! We are in for lots of entertainment, that's for sure ... McD's year? NIGHTMARE Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Morning all It sure is going to be interesting with Cellino at the helm. Think for words to describe McDermott "not good enough" has to be the only phrase that springs to mind for me.
Morning all. Im just thankful this idiot bought us and god knows he must be mad or something. We dont have much at the moment but the future is brighter than it has been for well over a decade. Thanks Massimo
Morning all. I'm amazed BMD has been given a vote of confidence. Maybe we have a chairman taken a slightly longer view of things. We know we will be getting rid of a lot of players who don't fit into BMD's plans. This should free up plenty of space to bring in some genuine talet, ver and above what we've got. Stewart is currently the best of the three wingers we have. I would be amazed if Kebe was retained. And Aniyibi needs game time somewhere to see how far away he is from at least a place on the bench. In CM, we have Austin. Let's hope when he does get back in, he'll show what he can deliver. He has a role to play as a box to box CM. But he needs to learn the art of delivery a bit more, rather than trying to injure a fan sitting in row Z. All in all, we're in for an interesting journey. At least we can now afford the fare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ariyibi's already on loan at Tranmere till the end of the season, and as for Austin, he's had his chance, he'll never be good enough.
Any idea how Ariyibi's doing? God knows we need some pace and decent wingers! As for Austin, I think he could still have some usage, only as a bit part player though. His distribution is awful
not sure how he's doing at tranmere, but heard he's a billy bigtime. Be very surprised if he's here next year. Anyone who can't push for a place on the wing at leeds is maybe lacking star quality. Agree on austin. If he hasn't learnt to pass by now, i'm not sure its happening anytime soon
Kiwi, I'll have to disagree with you. Austin is a strong box to box CM. His distribution and picking the right option will come. He just needs to learn. Give him time.
How much time and learning do we afford a 28 year old player who is already a regular for his country? Is there much learning left in him? I'm tending to agree with Kiwi that he just isn't good enough for this level. We already have Murphy filed under the "potential given time" umbrella, if we're to have a successful season next year we need a solid midfield and two CMs "learning" their trade aren't going to offer that, that much has been patently clear this season. It's often said games are won in midfield, and looking at our run since the New Year it seems thats at least partly true. Obviously you can't disregard the wonderful performances of Tom Lees...
My (sensible) personal summer wish-list: 1 x new keeper 1 x new centre back 1 x new centre mid 1 x winger 1 x new striker Some might say we virtually need a new team, but thats not going to happen overnight, so i think this is realistic for now.
Something about a camera? Caught on CCTV doing something maybe? Probably a load of twitter bollocks, but interesting none the less
Each to their own mate I think he does have some qualities, but when our primary issue is ball retention, Austin's not the answer. I'd be happy to keep him around the squad (providing his wages aren't astronomical), bringing him on to help close a game out or to add some strength if we're against a big side, but I just don't see him as a regular. We've needed a top quality central midfield for years now though to be honest
