May I ask as possibly stupid question? If Allam is so stupid and god knows what, how did CTWD only manage to gain 16% of the vote? Also, how did such a stupid man become so rich from very humble beginnings?
You're right it is a stupid question. "Vote CTWD" was not an option on the ballot paper. A not so stupid one coming back at you. How did AA only manage 17% of the vote despite asking the "silent majority" to back him & loading the ballot paper with a leading & threatening option in favour of the change?
I have no doubt Dr Allam is a very good business person in his own field of expertise. Unfortunately it doesn't make him an expert in marketing a football club or dealing with said club's supporters diplomatically.
Despite not agreeing with CTWD, I always had a huge amount of admiration for the hard work you did up until the ballot questions were announced. There was whining, moaning and complaining and it undermined all the hard work you'd put in previously. I completely understand your discontent with the loaded questions which undoubtedly were completely unfair. But let's be honest, the Allam family needed every ounce of help possible. If you had just come together and said, 'sod it we'll win it anyway', then I firmly believe that you would have quite easily. For me, it was the defeatist attitude killed you but I do appreciate that the questions weren't in your favour! However, your opposition was a man who said that the fans can 'go die'. Let's face it, he should have been absolutely crucified in this ballot for what he said but he won by 50 votes, or as the majority believe, 10,050. The low turnout just shows how few fans care strongly about the name and the simple fact is that CTWD are in the minority amongst season pass holders.
It proves nothing of the sort, if option A wasn't 'vote for me or I'm walking away', then the result would have been very different.
You're wrong. The purpose of the ballot was to ascertain whether season ticket holders have confidence in our owners to run the club. They asked the "silent majority" to be heard & support him. The silence was deafening, they were loud & clear. They didn't support him. Only 2565 did support him, amongst these were club employees who were given the opportunity to vote in the non confidential ballot & corporate box owners who were given block votes. The electorate voted 5:1 against the owners. Maybe your concern should be with the type of owner who lies, threatens, misleads & abuses his customers & who unashamedly rigs a ballot in his favour before subsequently misrepresenting the results when he still didn't get the result he wanted. CTWD are a group of supporters who cared, came together, got organised, campaigned against & made public all the shortcomings of our owner's proposed name change that you highlight in your post. How did AA only manage 17% of the vote despite asking the "silent majority" to back him & loading the ballot paper with a leading & threatening option in favour of the change?
Not at all. Wrong yet again. I would accept that to some in this world i am a thick person but when it comes to you and people like you then i am ""Albert Einstein"". The vote was 47 No and 27 yes,, by all accounts. We agree again on something. Good points well made.
Yes that true, but why couldn't you have won this vote? You all worked so hard with the membership fees, scarfs etc all of which was very impressive. Why couldn't you have turned the question round and done a poll on your site about people who support the Allams and people who want him to walk away. I have no doubt that it would have been overwhelming support in favour of the Allam family's continued contribution. How could he have walked away then? He has the support of the vast majority
CTWD couldn't lose the vote. Allam called the ballot to show he had the support of the "silent majority". 83% of those eligible to vote rejected him.
The real problem with CTWD is the fact that they've created a (racist) black and white environment and not only cowardly shifted all the blame on AA but have basically shunned anyone who dared question them (reminds you of someone?). I have zero respect for someone telling me "you're either with us or with AA". This is why I attribute 50% of the mess we're in now to them because I read right through the fake "we're willing to work with the Allams" political bullshit. The campaign was too personal imo and ZERO thinking was put into the aftermath and the consequences. Focusing too much on the present and not the future. On top of that this forum became their HQ, openly critical posts were edited and deleted by CTWD members like DMD and PLT , which certainly didn't help whatsoever. The more it went on the more the campaign's tactics mirrored those of AA . CTWD couldn't control who joined them and it gradually became an Anti-Allam group (through songs, posts, tweets and so on) despite the public and fake denial of its leaders. Lies were uncovered and I just didn't want to be a part of what resembled what is going on in Crimea. And frankly, I give as much **** about your response to this, as you do of my opinions but after 8 months some still don't understand the problem some of us have with CTWD. Some thick ****s still seem to think that criticising CTWD means you want the name to change, no sense of self-criticism. CTWD= honourable intentions, great passion but wrong execution.
The poll is utterly worthless, it won't be taken seriously by anyone, so it wasn't necessary to get too worked up about it.
If you believe that, the supermods can track every action we've made. If what you say is true, they will act. If you can't prove it, you stop posting. PUT UP OR SHUT UP ARSEHOLE.
A quite excellent post and good summary of the situation. Prepare for the usual suspects to throw abuse at you for it unfortunately.
