I can't believe some people would want rid of Ashley and have FFS! If FFS comes back then thats it for me. Ashley is no angle and has made mistakes but thanks to him we are still a club. Personally I think we would have ended up far worse than Leeds/Portsmouth and would have become a League 1/2 club from then onwards. Occasionally flirting with a chance of promotion to the Championship. Praying for a couple of young players to come good and get a few million to buy an ageing stalwart.

Long term wise I think Ashley will be seen as a good owner - especially compared to a lot of other owners. Unfortunately we have a lot of fans who are representative of current society where by they think we are the ones owed something as an automatic just by being.

 

Some people would describe him as obtuse

It's a no brainer in my opinion.

Of course Hall didn't come out of it whiter than white either.

 

I really can't believe people would seriously consider taking back Shepherd.

He has one redeeming feature: he is a genuine fan, has black and white blood. Unfortunately the same blood is poisonous.

Please take off your rose-tinted specs and consider his legacy when at the club. He and the Halls struck lucky with KK, it really was the last throw of the dice. They had brought the club to its knees. Then they struck gold. KK saved the club from relegation and demanded investment in players. Money came pouring in from Sky at precisely the same time. Suddenly all the club's latent potential was released and the golden egg was hatched for Shepherd & co to feed off. Almost no foundations were built (KK was as much to blame for this), save for a money-spinning ground expansion, and, after taking enormous amounts of money from the club, sold it, lock stock and barrel, to a man of whom they knew nothing and whose intentions were entirely nebulous.

 

I would even question whether or not FFS was a genuine fan!

 

If he was a genuine fan he'd still be going to the games.

Has anybody seen him at one in recent times?

 

Funny how people seem to have forgotten what they thought of the fans, the whole replica shirt saga showed that they viewed us an ignorant money machine to fund their comfortable lifestyles, as for financial management Ashley got his fingers burnt during the take over by not doing full due diligence as they left the surprise of the £70 odd million debt in deferred transfer fees, I don't ever remember Shepherd dipping into his pocket to buy players, he mortgaged future ticket revenue to fund transfers.

 

Typical rag and bone man, no principals,no respect for others, get what you can when you can. To hell with the team and the fans.

You have hand to Mike, give Fat Freddie a call, ask him to spread a few rumours of interest in coming back and lo and behold, we start to realise how lucky we are with him.
