Lets give praise where praise is due imagine being a Athletico Madrid fan for the past 60 years, how do you compete with the best club side in the world in your backyard ,Real have won everything, have all the best players from around the world yet they could be usurped by some upsart from across the road. How can 10 journeymen plus one ageing superstar Villa, have now defeated Barcelona over two legs and have reached the semi final for I think the first time in their history. The answer is quite simple hardwork, now where have we heard that before and humility which Im sure having Real as neighbours they have plenty of that plus a great coach Diego Simeone
This is the way we should try and emulate, we are used to being humiliated by all and sundry, lets get a siege mentality going so that ER is a feared fortress again and bring a strong work ethic into the club at the moment and Im sorry Brian but not many seem to careless about the club Diouf for example is not fit to play hes not unfit to take his wages though. Why pay him , sorry Brian you are too soft I wouldn't call him Diuofy I would call him what he is and refuse to pay him until he gets fit for purpose
This malaise has got to stop its all too chummy chummyif BM cant do it get someone who can I would tell the players do you want to win something or not get out
FinallyI believe in my heart that in this new owner we have got a winner lets hope for all our sakes I am right
    VIVA Athletico viva Leeds

Fair point about uncle fester, much too nice to read the riot act. The players clearly know that he wont be there at the end of the year, either that or they just don't care anymore.

Atletico have been coming for a couple of seasons, having Diego Costa playing at the top of his game has pushed them into the frame in La Liga ... the big problem with lazy, underperforming players is the PFA, it stops McD chucking them out on their arses, and he can't say what he wants ... clubs have to be so damn careful because that knob Taylor just loves a fight in the media

Atletico have certainly come on leaps and bounds in recent seasons, but I don't think you can say their teams consists of 10 journeymen. They have some seriously talented players in that team, hence why they are where they are. Hard work counts for a lot, but if you haven't got the quality (like us) you're screwed.

Breath of fresh air Atletico have been and I think Arda Turan sums the team up perfect with his mixture of skill and determination to work hard for the team , they dont half like a fight and it would be great to see Leeds build on that model. Getting the right man and players for the job takes some doing though but we can always hope.
