Off Topic Warm Glow- Since 2014- now like Milan- Mackem Free

Absolutely.

Some very impressive Glow facts.....the Dismals have lost their lost four league games having scored three and conceded eleven. They've picked up one point from the last twenty one in the league <relegation form if ever I've seen it>

In the month of March the Dismals played six games in all competitions, drawing one and losing five No wonder the Glow has been so strong.

On Saturday they come up against an Everton side that have won all of their last six league games <what's the betting they make it seven?>

This one brings back horrible memories of a long running joke on fighting talk or some show like it when we were struggling one year. It was always in the format of a movie trailer and the punchline was always 'Toontanic' now playing at St James, son to be playing Nationwide (obv when it was the Nationwide league). I lived down south at the time and worked with a smoggie and a mackem who both used to play a recording of it over the tannoy whenever they got a chance.

 

What luck to be working with a Smoggie and a Mackem.

 

At least the mackem and the smoggie will be able to meet up two times next year.

 

So do I, but nothing will come near that day they were relegated to Div 3 at Joker Park v Gillingham. Most bizarre match I've been to. There were 3 sets of supporters: Gillingham's, Sunderland's and Newcastle's, who were honorary Gills for the day. The prison cells were actually split into 3 at the local nicks, probably a first for the police.

Anyone else go?

 

I wasn't there Frank but that day has gone down in footballing folklore. Maybe we should buy some tickets for their final home game of the season and join in the latest festivities? <big grin>

 

That's added to my currently high levels of warm glow.

 

I'd be tempted to be fair.
Could wear our colours but we could unfurl a banner and start off chants of 'we'll meet again...'.
Only problem is... there won't be many SAFC at the stadium as their already waning home support will be almost invisible.

Oh and one more thing just to tickle your Glow on this Thursday morning.......the mackems are 21 points behind us with a worse goal difference and only seven games left.

I think it is safe to say that we will be, once again, the top North East team in the Premier League this year <caveat - over 38 games>
