Welcome aboard Most of the guys on here are sound. There are a couple of dodgy twats too. Watch out for three of the four mods (bozz the exception), the DR says, Enricky and anyone you see slagging me off
Good article but there is a lack of evidence to back up your claims. Yes, The Sox went from bottom of the standings last season to World Series Champions this season but that was mainly due to 1 huge trade - The 10-Megaton trade with the dodgers last year which saw a lot of the more ego-centric Sox players move to the West Coast and The change in management as John Farrell was brought in from the Blue Jays to replace the disastrous year under Bobby Valentine. Football works differently to baseball as its not the mano-a-mano duel between pitcher and batter that you have in Baseball. Football is more about working as a unit and there is much greater need for chemistry in football than in Baseball - Also, the pool of players to pick from is far greater in football while the gap between the great and the medicore is greater in baseball. FSG couldn't just swap Rodgers with Guardiola and then swap 6 of our top earners with 6 of Manchester City's and expect to win the league. Football doesn't work like that so FSG will need to do a lot more to ensure it happens. IMO, I think they are. There has been a huge investment (not just by the owners) in the youth team. We are getting in the best youth coaches around (Heck, Rodgers himself was Chelsea's youth coach when they were at their very best) and we have the first professional womens team (who are currently WSL Champions) Success breed success and this will inspire the mens team to try and top trump the women (or not if you're Arsenal). We have had the ladies train with the 1st team and that again is a fantastic step forward. I remember when we were under Kenny (and Rafa) it seemed to be Liverpool FC against the world, now its about promoting Liverpool FC as a family club, An innovator for the sport and I think the positivity this brings (next to the simply fantastic signings our transfer committee have made recently) will see us rise to the top... soon
That is me - have a liking for Chelsea but not a Chelsea fan. I follow the Premiership - a huge Suarez fan!
