^^^^ this EXCEPT Matty Fryatt in for Aluko. Aluko is nowhere near ready to start but i suspect that Sheff Utd will run out of legs by the hour mark and he could be an impact sub for sure along with Quinn-iesta. Wembley is no place for leggy players and another big plus for is if Tom Huddlestone can make the ball do the work with his great passing. Elmo and Boyd to run the Blades ragged on the wings.
Yeah, that took me by surprise too. He looked much better in the first half on Saturday. I'd be tempted to have OLM's team with Livermore in at the expense of Sagbo. While that would mean it might look a bit defensive at first glance, being a 4-5-1, I think it would give Elmo and Boyd great licence to bomb on, as well as any of the three CMs.
Steve Bruce is going to the game tonight. Sheffield Utd v. Rotherham Utd. However the Blunts are likely to make a few changes from the weekends 1-1 home draw with Orient. SB may not learn as much as he wanted to do. Either way looking at there entire squad i dont see many to worry us. If we are on it then there is only one winner.
Harper Rosenior Chester Davies Fig Emo Huddlestone Livermore Boyd Sagbo Fryatt It's harsh on Meyler. But we looked far more balanced with Boyd on the left.
Sheffield United have scored fewer goals away from home (14 in 20 games) than any other team in League One (see link) http://espnfc.com/tables/_/league/eng.3/english-league-one?cc=5901 So why would Bruce, who has gone 3-5-2 against some of the best attacking teams in the Prem play 4 at the back??? Chester and Rossy are in top form. Davies is arguably one of the top-3 CHs in England. Does he really think United's weak attack is going to run them ragged. United will be parking the bus and hoping to snatch a goal from a quick break or penalty/set piece. We need five across the middle with Elmo and Boyd running it down the wings, Meyler and Livermore penetrating the middle behind the two strikers, and Thudd lying deep to provide those killer long balls. That's my guess as to what he is thinking.
I have an awful fear that Alex Bruce will be starting on Sunday. I think we will go to a back 3 of some sort, not what I want to happen just what I think SB will do (hope I'm wrong)
According to Bruce it was a precautionary measure to rest him because of a minor back sprain. I'm assuming he'll be ok for Sunday.
Harps Rosey Chezzy Bruce Figgy Elmo Thudd Livermore Meyler Boydy Fryatt I can see him having Sagbo as a sub who'll come for impact after an hour.
Be good if we're coasting with 5-10 left and he can give Quinn a run out. From the ones I know, he'd get a great reception from the blunts fans.
4:3:3. Rosenior, Davies, Chester, Figueroa Livermore, Huddlestone, Meyler Elmohamady, Sagbo, Boyd. Tear them a new one. So to speak.
This might be on one of the other threads, but here's as good as anywhere. Sheff Utd are resting 9 (nine) players tonight in their South Yorkshire derby with Rotherham. Brucie has gone to watch, which may be a wasted journey. Brentford not happy.
It's a shame their form has dipped a bit as if they were firmly in the playoffs mix they wouldn't be resting players.
