Goes on every week across the country, with away fans usually charged more.

I may be wrong but look at our final game at Liverpool, adult ticket at £48.
Liverpool fans in similar seats won't be paying that amount.

Aye, like trying to charge journalists for reporting on the match.

Alternatively what the club could have done was charge our fans more, which nobody wants.

Southampton fans paid the going rate for the game, like we do when we travel away.
My recollection was that they returned tickets, which then went on sale to the general public at the normal price for our fans.

I really don't see what we are doing that isn't being done elsewhere.

I don't really follow your point here - if it happens at every club, every week, why has, specifically, Southampton's complaint against Newcastle been upheld when I have not seen the same thing happen at any other club? I accept I simply may not have seen this and that these types of complaints of penny-pinching actually are commonplace.

What the club could have done was not looked like such a pack of moronic, tight-fisted w@nkers. Bear in mind it's at most 1,000 x £10. Robbing people who can barely afford it, who've traveled a thousand miles, of around ten grand, in a week where Mike Ashley personally pocketed £200m.

I don't like defending the club, in fact I'm being a f****** heretic here.

It's common practice for Away Fans up and down the country to be charged more than Home Fans.
Home Clubs determine the cost for each match depending on who they are playing, with games typically Graded as A, B, C, each category at a different price.

When Southampton played at SJP in December, the Ticket Price would have been a pre-determined cost e.g. £35 per ticket. Any tickets that Southampton returned would then have went on sale to NUFC fans as would any of our tickets normally available for Level 7.

The tickets in question were obviously adjacent to the SFC fans on level 7, but instead of charging at the same price, NUFC fans have been charged less, e.g. £25. Of course, the Club, could have charged our fans more, which I don't think anyone would want to see happen and Southampton would have had nothing to complain about.

Maybe nobody usually complains? Next time it happens to us, make a complaint to the Premier League and see what happens.

Have I got this wrong? I thought NUFC tried to get a reciprocal agreement with them so that both sets of fans for the home games were charged the same. ( Southampton turned this request down )
Southampton sent some tickets back so they went on sale at a lower price in order to shift them.

How come we get stuffed at other grounds, especially in London, yet nothing is done to those clubs. Double standards or what?

Age old problem, London Clubs seem to have more clout with the FA.

I thought we were going to charge away fans whatever our fans were charged in the reverse fixture. Does this mean this can't be done if that price is more than NUFC fans pay at SJP?

Just picked this up from NUFC.com

    Magpies clarify ticket refund ruling.

From the official NUFC website, Wednesday:

Newcastle United have been instructed to make a payment of more than £12,000 to Southampton Football Club after a complaint was upheld by the Premier League in relation to ticket prices for Saints fans at SJP.

After the Magpies' offer of a lower reciprocal ticket pricing deal for both clubs' travelling supporters was rejected by Southampton, Newcastle set away ticket prices for Southampton's visit to St. James' Park in December at £37 for adults, £33 for seniors and £22 for juniors - matching the prices imposed by Saints on Newcastle fans travelling to St. Mary's Stadium in March.

Despite Newcastle United setting prices for home fans in adjacent seats on Level 7 of the Leazes End at the same price, the Premier League upheld Southampton's claim that prices were set unfair in relation to those available to home supporters.

The Premier League argued that seats at the opposite end of the stadium in the upper Gallowgate End constituted a 'comparable area' where tickets were available for less, despite notable differences in the configuration, facilities and viewing angle between the stands.

Newcastle United have therefore been instructed to revise ticket prices down to £27 for adults, £22 for seniors and £13 for juniors and have paid Southampton in lieu.

If that's the case then for once there is nothing disgraceful about Cashley, but rather the FA. IMO its a disgusting ruling against a club for trying to get a fairer deal for its travelling fans, the fans who (along with SAFC) travel further than any other Premier league fans to follow their team.

    It beggars belief.
Basically Southampton want it both ways, charge our fans one price and expect there fans to have a reduced price at SJP.
In fact there using NUFCs policy of keeping down prices against us, and it could ultimately lead to our fans paying higher ticket prices at home.

    I'm fast going off Southampton.
Now I remember why I always preferred Pompey.
