The Board seems to have enormous faith in Monk but that's no surprise. I was at a function some years ago and Jenkins was saying they saw a big future for Monk in a coaching role in future. Forgetting the arguments about Laudrup's departure I remain to be convinced that Monk is the man, and I can't see how anyone could be happy with him. Players are to blame for a lack of effort or performance but the Manager has to take the rap. Results have been terrible by and large and I get the feeling he's trying to please everyone - with a couple of exceptions.

Is Pozuelo injured? If not why doesn't he get on the pitch?

Why does Lita get game time at all?

Why is Michu so awful lately? Not just unfit and out of form but downright awful? Is he not match fit?

We all know Rangel was to blame for the loss on Saturday, as was Vorm in not coming for the cross, but why does the Manager feel the need to publicly say so?

Crucially, why is it that we continue to blow hot and cold - just like we did under Laudrup? You can't just blame the players.

How does Monk hope to attract good players to our Club assuming we stay up?

These are questions that the Manager should be asked.

My original view was that Monk's appointment was small-minded and is parochialism at its worst. I've seen nothing so far that changes that view. It may be just about good enough to see us to the end of the season but everything I've seen so far tells me that Monk is a coach who is simply not ready and needs time under someone who knows what they're doing or learning his trade in a smaller club.

Luckily the lower reaches of the Prem are piss poor this season or we'd be relegated by now and I'll be amazed and hugely disappointed if Monk is the Manager next season. Looking at the fixture list we might just scrape over the line but it's worrying.

I enquired about Pozuelo shortly after Monk took over, but no one seemed to have any info on him,or his whereabouts.

    Presumably,Monk isn't a fan.

Touching on a few points in this thread:

I think Monk says he will build the team around Bony because he's scared of losing Bony in the summer so wants to keep him interested.

Also I think that Monk has the instilling belief thing that Laudrup lacked, but Laudrup had the tactical nous that Monk lacks. A combo of the 2 of them spliced together would be great (or dreadful depending which halves were spliced!)

Also baffled by Poz's omission and Lita being recalled to the bench. WTF?!?!

Up till the first game that Monk took over , no player on the team played a part in more games than Poz , since Monk took over Poz hasn't played a part in a single game ..... whats with dat .

Simple really, Monk doesn't know what he's doing. Let's be honest Poz out Lita in, I rest my case.

Perhaps Poz told him a few home truths about what he did to Laudrup. Maybe not, who knows? One thing is for sure, he's a far better player than Lita who's leaving anyway and he's our player, one many of us believe will go on to great things..... if he's given the chance.

When our midfield was in a shambles , Poz was a godsend . Played a huge part in our early European adventure too. How a player plays in more games than any other for one manager , then doesn't play a single minute under the next incoming manager is unexplainable imo and shows incompetence by one or the other

We don't need to guess which it is I'm afraid . I appreciate that mangers have the power to do whats they believe is the right decision in the best interests of the squad but Poz must have really pissed him off if Monk thinks Lita is the future .

I always found Pozuelo to be a hugely frustrating player - always trying to do something fancy and clever when the simple thing is more effective. Can't say I've missed him at all.

Apart from some neat feet against lesser European sides Pozuello has been ineffective at best. Not quite as ineffective as Vasquez but not far off.

Anyone know where Emnes has gone?

I have the opposite view of Poz aswan - when we looked bereft of ideas or were closed down close in the middle Poz always seemed to find a way out of it. And his close control under pressure is generally excellent. Obviously he makes the odd mistake as more creative players tend to do as they try riskier things (Pablo) - but on the whole his potential is massive. Lita's is not.

I have to agree , no way is he the finished product but the lad has huge potential to go onto bigger and better things .A bit more creativity in the midfield is always welcome.

    Agree totally.
Yes he did lose the ball trying to unpack a tight defence but so did everyone else in different ways but he also seemed to me to have more success at getting through.
I'd always have him as an option but at this stage of his development it would from the bench.

What an overreaction..<laugh> your so in the minority with your views its unbelievable..<laugh> Its lucky we have people in charge who thinks different and the majority of fans who are excited by the prospect of monk next season...one answer is dont bother supporting the swans if you think we will go down next season....monk has done a fantastic job so far for a player thrust into the job and has been praised for his efforts by everyone in football and certainly at swansea football club. He deserves his chance as manager just like we gave martinez a chance and look what he has achieved... Why should the doubters begrudge a legend of the club having a chance as he can always be replaced if things don't go well. Its not a problem is it...

Agree dai is in agreement with a small minority. Monk had a few supporters fooled early on but most fans with any footballing knowledge soon realised he was out of his depth. Just look at his record, dreadful. Pozuelo can't get a look in and Lita in the match day squads, I once again rest my case.
