I do not agree with your post, but I do know where you are coming from, I have heard others say the same, but actually, they said that about me as well so I ignored them!!!
The point is Mel that people like me were shouted down by a mob of narrow minded bullies.I hope they stop supporting the club because they have sickened me and seriously made me think about calling it a day as a city fan after almost 50 years.I seriously cannot stand people like this and hope they leave the rest of us to it
There aren't many people like you. Blame the current owner for splitting the fan base with his ego trip.
The apathy exists no doubt but I don't think it matters. I'd like to think that it's not just as and that every club at this level will have probably half their season ticket base, maybe more, who only go to see good football and don't really care for the club itself or issues such as this one. It's sad but unsurprising and it doesn't mean anything about the ones who do care, and for whom the club is a big part of their life. Stop been **** you were just on a windup and you know it. Do I need to post a link to your activities on the Sunderland board?
Go on then clever guy.Tell me how you know there are not many like me. You have no idea yet your little ego will not allow you to not pass comment day after day after day.
C Jane, There are many good people involved with CTWD. Many who I trust and some that I do not. The same applies for any and every supporters group. I do not know any in CTWD personally and base my opinion on what others have said.
PLT I have bleated on about the percentages of supporter base involvement. If you get more than 10% you are doing better than the average. This ballot is actually better supported than I imagined.
I am a bit busy for that Stuey. You on the other hand seem to have plenty of time on your hands. You never did say if you were the guy who sings about saying no to silence on his way to the match.
My thinking is the majority of supporters for what ever reason just don't care either way. Anyone who doesn't want the name change should have voted No to the name change even though it was a stupid poll there was the option to vote No. I know I did. Its all irrelevant anyway because the FA make the decision, not CTWD or the Allams. They will say NO. And that really should be the end of it.
Wow, how petty are some ****s on here!? Numerous posters on here tonight from the 'Yes' camp have moaned about CTWD over the past couple of months, in some cases literally for their comments on this internet forum swaying them to vote yes (very spineless in itself)... suddenly the results of this ridiculous poll come out and now they're all billy big bollocks, trying to do exactly what they accused CTWD of doing!!! Markkc... you're a petty shambles. Read back through this thread from the start... honestly it's like 4 year olds. The entire poll is invalid... it's such a steaming pile of **** and it's obvious. Regardless of the outcome it was always going to be made out to protect Allam's interests and we all knew that. AKCJ makes a good point and the people who didn't vote are also spineless... unless they didn't get the chance to vote... those worried about Wembley tickets need a pair of bollocks putting on. The most petty, irrelevant thread I've read, but even then when you step back and think about everything the Allams have tried over the past few months, you wonder about their mental age or sanity... you couldn't make this up... who will deal with them now? Seriously... Allams out... scum
No it wasnt a majority of 50. It was a majority of over 800...or 57% of those who voted...who voted either for the change or said they would continue to support the club and weren't concerned about a name change. A further 9200 of the 15,000 season ticket holders didnt bother to vote because they are not interested enough in the issue on the ballot to consider it of importance to them. What is clear, despite all the ravings of the name change opposers, is that (a) they are a small minority or 10% of those who go to the KC every week and (b) they have blown up their importance out of all proportion to their size. I and many other long time supporters, as opposed to the big mouths like Blampey and others who have hardly 10 years of going to Hull games, are heartily sick of their lunatic personal attacks on Mr.Allam, the best owner we have ever had besides my friend Harold Needler, both of whom have put their money where their mouth is and has been hugely influential in bringing my beloved Tigers into the top flight of English football, something that most of us could only dream about 10 years ago. If the FA rules against the name change I'll accept it. But the verdict of Hull City season ticket holders is in and CTWD should accept it in good grace before making further fools of themselves. And Blampey you dont impress me with your nonsensical arguments and bold type. Grow up!!
Reading the press reports on this ballot sums up how badly the club is marketing itself. The result was irrelevant - the way the result is reported around the world is far more relevant when it comes to companies potentially sponsoring us. Generally the ballot has been reported as a shambolic vote which makes Fidel Castro's (and other Dictators) elections look fair. How has the club got it so wrong - Assem Allam has made himself, his family, the fans and the club look completely clueless - no one comes out of this looking better than before it happened - that is poor business decision making whichever way you look at it
Sorry Canada but this is completely wrong from start to finish. You can't go adding people who didn't vote, or who voted that they didn't have a view, onto the pile you want to inflate a bit. That's a dodgy Allamism but I'm sure you're better than that. I know you're in Canada so only get to see games on TV and streams but this 10% is nonsense. If you could go to games and hear the strength of feeling on this you'd realise how ridiculous your post now seems. The ballot is twisted beyond belief. The result of it only proves that, because it's so clearly not representative of the feeling among fans as gaged by other, independent polls and more importantly, the noise at matches. You're conveniently ignoring that but it's true. This poll is yet another reason to dislike Allam. You might not dislike him but you must see the reasons for doing so. If you think he's the best owner ever you need to state why. I'll tell you why he isn't: because we're in our worst financial position ever as a club and he's making being a City fan less and less enjoyable with his childish ****. It must be confusing for fans of other clubs we've played to see this story break after seeing us unite as a crowd to oppose the change. Our matchday protests are impressive and regularly generate congratulatory applause from opposition fans.
It's just so sad that the owner has chosen to take this path when the results on the pitch are selling the club by themselves, and that the owner is treating the club as 'his ball and if you don't like it you can't play'- the actions of a toddler not a man in his seventies.
