Despite the shower **** he has to work with he's just come out and said "we weren't good enough, I am the manager and it's my fault".

Not one for praising anything Sunderland related how refreshing to hear that he takes responsibility. Don't think I've ever known Pardew to admit fault.

Poyet is out of his depth in the Premier League.

Honest though. Pardew is so far up his own arse he wouldn't admit it.

I think the jury is still out on him given how poor their squad us but he's not really turned the tide there. Just nice to hear a manager front up and accept responsibility.

Merge the two and drop a Hughton in and we have a good manager.
Don't forget, Poyet ****s on floors.

Pardew's never wrong , cough cough, so he doesn't have to admit any fault.

Poyet will be ok given the chance, it's the current players that are ****e.

This relegation has been on the cards for a few seasons now, it was one of those cases, where you can see it happening, but everyone just stands staring at it.

How much investment do you reckon it would have taken to keep you up, and how much do you reckon you'll lose by getting relegated?

The problem was the madness of the summer transfer market, 14 players i think, for what? Hardly any have made the team. Decent players cost money, and in this case it's gonna be proved, buy cheap ****e, it's doesn't pay of. After Bruce went both O'Neil and PDC had the chance to get rid of the lame horses, neither did and cost both of them jobs. Sadly in the end they are taking us down.

Money lost is gonna be massive, ok tv payments will help, but unlike yourselves, i'm not so sure of coming straight back up, it's a whole squad overhaul that is needed. Don't expect any derby games soon, unless it's the cups.

Poyet needs time but there is no doubt the job done so far has been poor. The players brought in were not the right types for their situation. He has chopped and changed his team, switched formations and basically got himself into a right muddle. The pressure is clearly telling, he looked a man going through hell last night. We must remember the guy has not had a short period to sort things out. He has been there since early October and had a transfer window to help him. Look at Pulis, been at Palace since late November, arguably has poorer resources at his disposal. Much better transfer business going for Ince, Hennessey, Dann, Puncheon, and Ledley for roughly 6.5m. Poyet went for Alonso, Scocco, Vergini, Bridcutt, Utsari for about 5m-6m. All the excuses in the world aside, its pretty obvious who knew how to get out of a hole. When Pulis joined, they had the same number of points. Palace are 9 points clear now.

If you'd offered me the 2, I'd have gone Poyet too. In the long term I still think he'll be the better option. That does not excuse a ****e job done so far and their fans should be frustrated by his efforts. You are praising him for accepting the blame but I seem to remember him claiming not long ago that it was not his fault if they went down. Not entirely Gus, but be man enough to admit you had the majority of the season to sort it out.

Tbf the management of the club has been rubbish and this has been coming for a few years. Not saying poyet has done either a good/bad job but anybody other than a allardyve/pulis type was never going to be a success, even those types would struggle.

He'll be good for them in the Championship. Lot of average players who came because of him, and not on big salaries. He'll offload a few for cash - Cattermole, Johnson, etc. - and keep a team that will most likely come back up again.

Pulis was their first choice however he reject them.
It was only 5 weeks ago the Sunderland fans were suggesting sir gus (who by the wAy should be known as over here)should be named
Manager of the year by equalling Bradfords mean feet of last year.
