Totally agree, but as the OP points out that Suarez is being targeted, and it as if he's the only one who does the kind of things you've highlighted in your last couple of posts, many players dive, many players including British players wave imaginary cards etc but **** sticks to Suarez more than others because of the media agenda to unsettle him and drive him out of the English game. Suarez has already said this season being a target of hate by the media is putting a strain on his life in this country,
Suarez gets a lot penalties mainly due the way he takes on players he kicks the ball into the ground which pops it up so it causes defenders to stick a leg or a hand out.
Suarez is the expert at weaving around and getting players off balance. He takes advantage of the fact that they are focused on the ball and off balance to put one past them. I doubt the intention is to win penalties- as much as it is to get the ball past the other person whilst he is off balance. It's almost like Judo- you pull your opposition one ways so that they resist against it the other way, making them easier to trip in the opposition direction. The hands reaching out is instinct without thinking by the defenders. Hands already away from body to stabalise themselves as they move back and forth trying to keep up with Luis. Ball whips up- they don't have time to think- their arm reaches out touching it... hand ball.
But as we all know its still within the rules of the game and how many times have we saw the multiple ways Suarez has flicked the ball over, around and under defenders from many different angles?, he's an absolute nightmare to defenders.
Other than Lawro's little two sentences in his team of the week and Savage mentioning it on MOTD, I've not seen much wrote about the 'world class' Toure's pathetic dive. Lawro, incidentally, still picked him. Suarez will always win alot of penalties simply due to how often he wrong foots defenders and leaves them struggling to get on the front foot again. When was the last time he actually legitimately dived?
So... Polls accusations are like his yellow cards. Unless he brandishes them three times, feel free to ignore them and pretend it never happened.
You have to admire the way Webb sees through Luis' evil-genius telepathy, the way he got Eto'o and Ox to scythe him down in the box five yards away from the ref. But Webb wasn't falling for that, and knew not to believe his eyes. Truly, he is the heir to Poll, and no amount of devious witchcraft from Luis Voldersuarez will fool him. And how DARE the greasy Sudac claim penalties when the ball is handled in the box!? Cheeky, ****ing ****! A good British striker would just slap the goalie in the face and get away with it.
Maybe Luis uses magnets. Or hypnotism. Or is he using black magic and sorcery? Something must be making otherwise brilliant, honest defenders such as Tomkins and Rafeal to stick their hands out in an involuntary manner and push the ball away in such a fashion that makes them look like immobile oafs who've just been outwitted by fabulous skill, and are simply trying to stop the forward score a goal.
Imagine the fuss if he admitted to using black magic "Rascist footballer refuses to use white magic".
BR is missing a trick here. Since Suarez is so adept at this skill, BR should be employing tactics similar to American football. Pass the ball 10 yards to Suarez - flick onto hand - free kick. Repeat until in penalty area - penalty.
Anyone else catch this http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...rd-scored-10-penalties-given-Graham-Poll.html FFS, why is it every one of our penalties needs to be scrutinized? I don't recall previous seasons when other teams getting boat-loads of penalties had such articles examining them. Fair enough he says that most are deserved but why the necessity for such a pointless article? Is there penalty-by-penalty analysis when certain teams get dubious penalties? (looking at you here Chelsea)
Gerrard has scored 10 penalties for Liverpool this season... but how many should have been given? 13.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...rd-scored-10-penalties-given-Graham-Poll.html Likes to contradict himself does Mr Poll. As the comments say, what about the ten or so not given? (Btw, I disagree with the Sterling one against Stoke - I'd have been livid had that one been given against us).
They're just preparing themselves for the possibility of us winning the thing, so they can say it was unfair/stuffy/undeserved, whatever. No doubt it'll go down well enough with plenty of other fans, so it'll become accepted as the truth. Ho-hum.
Another example of the Mail's desperate attempts to derail our title bid: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...patriot-consider-switch-Liverpool-rivals.html ****ing story dates back to when he was at Ajax.
