OK sunshine put your money where your mouth is. I have £100 which I will donate to Men United the Prostate Cancer charity if a single one of the three named players signs for united this summer. If you think it will happen then I suggest you wager £100 for the same charity that at least one of them will sign for your lot. We know these guys well enough to know that they don't want to go anywhere but if for some reason that view changed then United wouldn't get a look in. There is only one club Shaw will go to and they play in blue and as for Schneiderlin he will want to maximise his chance of an international call up with France so he would be off to join Wenger. Lallana isn't going anywhere. He could have joined a PL club when we were in league one but didn't so why would he leave Saints now when he is team captain, is off to Brazil, and is playing in one of the best sides in the PL. So bugger off and only bother to come back when you have something to say and you know what you are talking about.
One of the best things to happen to us this season has been Azpilicueta being such an awesome left back. I'm not convinced they'll spend so much on a new one if they're happy to keep Azpi in that position. Also United might be interested in Morgan but they'll have a long shortlist of midfielders.
Nobody is going anywhere. Provided Poch stays, and he will, they are all signed up members of the Get Saints into the Champions League Club. End of speculation.
Loving the fact that Moan U fans are so deluded that they still think their team is World class & that any player should feel privileged to play for them. Where by the facts are as follows: 1 SAF WAS man utd, without him they're going to be a top 8 team at best. 2 without CL football for the foreseeable future they will be only attracting the type of player that Spurs or Arsenal don't want. 3 teams like Liverpool, Chelsea, Citeh will be getting all the decent world class players. 4 Utd will not win the premier league again this decade. So why would they think that they can take players from us at will? Those days are over
I think they have forgotten how Shearer snubbed them for Blackburn and then went to Newcastle and it will be just the same with our current crop of great players.
Much as I support this post, when you are talking about points like No.2, you could be including us. However, this is where Saints differ. We have our own golden generation coming through, only ours look as though they aren't restricted to one generation. What they need is a new crop of ManUBabes.
If I was a United fan i'd be really frustrated with their poor use of young players. Januzaj, Powell, Zaha, Jones, Wellbeck. They have some really good young players, but despite his early appointment Moyes was ill prepared and under too much pressure to gain results so went back to the old guard and this was one season too many for a few of them. I bet if he has freshened up the side from the start of the season he would have been awarded more patience
Your post suggests you are sympathetic to Moyes problems, and if one takes a step back and looks at what Moyes was handed, he got to manage one of the biggest football clubs in the world, but instead of it being a dream job, the scenario had all the attributes of being a nightmare, and SAF is as guilty as anyone of making it so for him. No wonder Fergie took a microphone and said, support the new guy. Crikey, Moyes has needed it. I agree with your comments about the squad he inherited. I also think, with only several days before the end of last season, he was presented with the job personally by SAF, and was left hung out to dry with insufficient time to adjust, plan for the next season, find the way the club operates, and he lost a negotiating executive of high quality from the board. What he has done is he's made a couple of errors in transfers and tactics, but he's been having to learn to run the ManU way before he could even walk it. Although it is fun to see a change of order, he's at last improving them and they will start to edge past the Arsenal, Everton and Spurs brigade, who will stay where they are, and with my Saints hat back on, sadly I expect them to be a lot better next season.
Well Kevin Sheedy [Everton youth coach] levelled that criticism at Moyes - that he did not develop youth. However, you look at that list and most of them rely on pace. I am an admirer of Welbeck but I am really disappointed in how Jones and Zaha have progressed; their touch is poor and rely on pace; Jones especially was so poor at passing when playing against Bayern Munich.
Quick question for everyone out of interest: If you put the Southampton and Man U team together what would be your starting line up?
