Comments (4) GARRY Monk has made it clear that he will hand Ki Sung-Yueng a role at Swansea City next season if he is still in charge. Ki is due back in Wales in the summer having spent almost all of this season on loan at Sunderland. The South Korean international signed a three-year deal at the Liberty after joining from Celtic in a £5.5 million at the start of the 2012-13 campaign. Ki was a regular in his first Swansea season but amid talk of a fall-out with Michael Laudrup, he was allowed to join the Black Cats. He has since impressed in a Sunderland shirt, and Gus Poyet is keen to sign the midfielder on a permanent basis. But Poyet's men are facing a battle to stay up, and Monk is keen to bring Ki back to SA1 regardless of Sunderland's fate. "Ki is a quality player," said Swansea's head coach. "You can see the potential he has with what he has delivered for Sunderland this season. "He has put in some great performances up there and he's been scoring goals, which has not been great for us. "In a way it's good to see, but in another way you don't want to see it. "I think Ki could potentially a great player for Swansea, but of course we will have to see how he feels at the end of the season." It is understood Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins did not like the idea of allowing Ki to leave on loan â and that he was keen on bringing him back during the January transfer window. However, Swansea missed the deadline agreed in the original deal to recall Ki. "I don't if other clubs will be interested in him come the summer â all that will come out," Monk added. "But he is a Swansea player and he is the type you want at the club. "We need to let players like Ki know how important they are going forward and I think he is. "He might not have suited one manager, but it doesn't mean he won't suit the next manager. For me, I think he is a very good player who could play a key role for Swansea." Evans, rose, welbeck borini ki etc etc ATM after this Season I fail to see the advantage of loanee's. Yes their great values at times but in the long haul no. It overrides our academy of light I believe, if our youngsters aren't good enough to get blooded then what's the point in having the academy? I'm not knocking the system just curious to know how it's being used to our advantage?
He sounds like he's taking for granted that swans will be in the prem next season. That's by no means 100% certain
Lets be honest, Swansea will be in the premier league next season and you know they will. They still have to come to our place, so they will have at least 36 points come the end. Regardless of whether he thinks they will be there, Ki is their player and that won't change if they went down.
Do stop being a realist, we are living in a fantasy world now, story of hoe we could have fought with giant and dragons.
