If we compare them with us... We've got some people calling Pards out, but not actively getting on his back at every opportunity at games, as per Norwich fans. Most recognise he's not an awful manager, just not great, and that we probably can't realistically expect better with the current owner. Why does the manager have to go for change to happen anyway? Norwich are most certainly not above Chris Hughton's abilities.

And let's be absolutely fair, Chris Hughton carries himself with dignity and gives honest answers... Pardew is a classless arsehole, who could and perhaps should have been sacked for his lack of professionalism.

Default Will we ever love Pardew like we did Hughton?

    And what will it take?

I'll start by saying I'm not hung up on Hughton, nor am I anti-Pardew, just wondering what everyone thinks on this slow news day.

Hughton was our man, he was the only manager I can ever remember having every single fan behind him and he truly earned his post as manager. Added to that the underdog effect, and the dignified and classy way he went about his business in this, the most dramatic, over-the-top club ever and finally brought us some good press and had us going in the right direction.

Obviously there's no need to drag on about why he shouldnt have been sacked, but the fact that he shouldnt have been meant Pardew came in under very hostile circumstances and many fans still hold his appointment against him, suggesting he played a part in the loss of Hughton.

But he's doing a very, very good job. Aided by Graham Carr, some fantastic, low price transfers have replaced the big money earners like Nolan and Barton seamlessly, and since the start of 2011 (loss of Carroll/Barton long ball being a big factor IMO) we have started to play more attractive football. Many said they would reserve judgement on Pardew until this very season, when he would have had a pre season and his own team to mould.

My question is, do you prefer Pardew to Hughton (in every aspect, not just managerial ability)? If not, what will it take for you to, just steady progression or some measurable success (Europe/a cup)?

You have to laugh really. Hughton's last 14 matches saw a total of 13 points won, result SACK.. Pardew's last 14 games has resulted in 13 points won, result PROBABLE BONUS.
If I could buy the club every coach would be sacked, thet haven't a clue along with our current manager.

I'd start the sacking at the top.

Gutted for Hughton but wouldn't want him back here.

In terms of managerial ability I put him and Pardew on pretty much an even keel, the only difference being that Hughton carries himself with both grace and dignity and is a thoroughly nice bloke. Pardew is none of the above. Swapping Pardew for Chris would be a very sideways move IMO though.

Gutted for Hughton thought Norwich would have stuck with him until end of season.

Let's see how they do without him.

They'll need a miracle worker and I'm afraid he's busy seven days a week.

Watching them sometimes thought some players body language wa poor, they looked as if they didn't want to play for Chrissie.

The chairman had said weeks ago that if they drop into the bottom 3 he would be fired, Norwich have to beat Fulham in the next match cause their last 4 are probably the toughest of the bottom 4, I can't see Cardiff getting out of it, Sunderland have games in hand but will have a tough run in and have to play 3 more games in the same time, it's going to be as interesting at the bottom as it will be at the top.

Chris will undoubtably get another good job in either the Championship or the PL.

CH is a lovely guy and a class act but you have to say, Norwich should have done this 10 games ago, if they were going to do this. What difference does it make now? All the experts have Norwich to go down with the run in they have.

I'm not convinced they will yet, but they're in for squeaky bum time. IMO tonights match might already decide 2 of the 3 relegation spots. If Mackems get something I think they will be alright, if not, that's it. Fulham have quite an easy run in and might still pull it off. Cardiff? Gone.

Chris Hughton's last fourteen games: 13 points
    (7 losses, 4 draws, 3 wins. 10 goals for, 20 against)

Here's the record that will see Pardew get a bonus:

Alan Pardew's last fourteen games: 13 points
    (9 defeats, 1 draw, 4 wins. 9 goals for, 27 against)
