So, who's going to win the title, according to the pundits? Mark Lawrenson: "Liverpool. They have the best forward in the league by a million miles and are playing great football. There is no real pressure on them and they crushed Tottenham last week." (Source: BBC Football Live commentary page)
It's the bit about Lawro (a biased Mouser ex-'Pool legend) predicting that 'Pool will win the title. Yes, 'Pool are great going forward, but so are £ity. The difference between the two clubs is that 'Pool don't have a defence, but £ity do. Hopefully, that has clear up the confusion for you?
Indeed. Within minutes of Saints equalizing, £ity go 3-1. 'Pool, as good as their one-man-band Goofy has been all season, simply don't that that kind of destruction in their locker.
A ****ing horrendous decision by the linesman changed the whole complexion of the game. Southampton were dominating up until that point. Not the first time the linesman at the Etihad had come to their rescue. Oh and as for lack of 'destruction in the locker' we the 2nd most scoring side in Europe
True, but 'Pool tends to score lots of goals against lame-duck teams, like Spurs. When you come up against a team that actually knows how to play football and that actually has a goal-scoring threat, such as Saints. 'Pool tends not to have the same killer instinct that £ity has. Which is, of course, why they are where they are in the league.
Another extremely soft penalty awarded for Diverpool today, that must be around 7 or 8 gifts from the spot this season which has yielded at least an extra 10 points. I think the whole media clamour for Liverpool to win the title is filtering through to the referees even more than usual now that they have a sniff of winning it, even the commentator Tyler is desperate for Pool to win it. I make that 12 pens for Pool this season, a rich reward when you consider Spurs were awarded 0 last season, the referees even ignore Goofy`s habitual simulation and seemingly can not wait to give free kicks and pens, there again LFC always did get the benefit from referees..... nothing will change there.
Only one of your players managed to make it into the opposition box on most occasions last season(apart from corners/set pieces)and he was correctly booked for simulation/diving on a few of those occasions, of the pens awarded in our favour this season I believe at least 6 have been for handball by defenders and of the others maybe two are debatable. Your problem seems to be not understanding the amount of time we've spent this season attacking the opposition defences and scoring 90 goals in the process, penalties are a by product of attacking the opposition, maybe if your team tried it more often it would no doubt pay dividends for them and also to help heal that massive chip on your shoulder.
