LFC wanted him to stay as a defensive coach, but he wanted to have a go at managing. Maybe he will come back as a defensive coach now, I would certainly have him back in that position. He knows the club and is held in high regard.

Sounds like he would rather manage than get a coaching role. So I hope he finds a good job.

I dont know if he would want to be a first team coach, but Brendan could probably teach a thing or two as a manager and he would be a massive asset to us as a defensive coach

CLub legend but not sure I would want him back as a coach:

    a) He's had a taste at managing in a good league at a decent club. Not sure he would he take a step down by coaching.

    b) Leverkusen have been poor defensively this season.

  14. People saying they're not sure if Hyypia would want to be a coach after managing but surely that's something only he knows? Not much point in second guessing his thoughts.

My question would be more around whether BR would want him. Now, before people say thats me second guessing Brod's thoughts, it isn't. I am basing it on what we've already seen of Brod. We know he likes his own guys around him, he brought his own team from Swansea with him and he's since changed the training setup too. He brought players he knew with him as well. From this, we know Brod high trust as a high priority. Does he knew or has he known Hyypia? No. The only ex-player I think Brod would consider is Carra having worked with him for a season already.

He would be a great defensive coach alongside Brendan. The only problem I'd have with that is, he'd see that Ashley Williams couldn't defend a paper bag and I'm hoping Brendan buys him in the summer <wah>

I think that ship has long and truly sailed! £18m for Sakho or £12m for Williams... tricky choice that one! Was being linked with us and Arsenal and now you guys don't even want him?
